Default LED Lighting

Wanted to share with everyone the recent "upgrades" I did. I installed LED lights in the fogs and license plate - it bugged me that everything else was LED except for those two places.

Problem solved.

The LED fog light was plug n' play, they match the factory LED lamps well, and honestly they seem to be better than the factory halogens. YMMV.

Phillips 194 LED in the license plate and Sirius LED 9145/9005's in the fogs. Total cost including shipping was a little over $30.

They look great! Who did you order them from if you don't mind sharing?

Is it just a bulb you swapped?

Been wondering if it's worth doing to my halogens on my xlt.

I swapped my halogen fogs for the LED's. Very nice change. Whiter light and much brighter. I used these from Amazon.

Thanks! No worries, I ordered them both off of Amazon.

Fog lights:

Pair of 9145 9005 Projection Super Bright 30w 6000k White Fog DRL Light New 2014 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N6D7K38..._8Y.swb9GH9AMK

License plate:

Philips 194 Bright White Interior Vision LED light (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2D3VZG..._kY.swbV9SK769

Just remember that if they don't work when you first plug them in then flip them around - polarity matters with these LED bulbs.

Yes, it is a simple bulb swap, plug n' play. Same as the factory bulb. So easy even I could do it!

In total it took about 10 minutes to swap the four bulbs - the longest part was the screws on the front fender to access the fog lights.

I have enjoyed the swap and would recommend it if you are interested. They are cheap enough.

That's very cool. Cheap and easy enough it's worth trying I suppose.

Do they make a large difference at night visibility wise?

I wonder if there is a bulb I can use for the primary lights and tail lights or if I'll need to do a retrofit thing.

I found them to make a significant difference. Do yourself a favor and change your reverse lights to Sylvania 4114C LED's. That will be a huge difference. I back down boat ramps before sunrise and these bulbs really helped. Got mine at Advance Auto Parts. You might have to call a couple stores to find them. REMEMBER. If the 4114 C bulbs don't light at first unplug and flip 180* and reinstall.

I have an XLT with 302A Package. I would like to change all my exterior lights to LED. Does anyone know what is needed for the headlights, tail lights, and third brake light?

I don't do any of that sort of backing up but I would be happy to have any visibility help on that backup camera at night or in the early morning hours.

I know that all of the high mount lights are "912"'s per the Owner's Manual. I have seen several people state that "921"'s work as well.

For the rest I will have to defer to others - my truck came with the factory LED's in the front and the rear.
