That’s awesome. I actually stuck a food thermometer up into the spot where the tire was touching the pipe while the truck was idling after a short drive and it was reading about 165 or so 😅 Not a really great way to find out the temp, but it gave me an idea. I wasn’t crazy about the whole idea, but I thought I would ask here just to get some feedback. I have all terrains on my truck and the MT tire was a gift. I’ve had it loaded in my bed for a while, but I have a short bed and already have a toolbox back there as well and I actually use my bed so I got tired of picking the tire up. It just was bugging me so much being underneath there and touching that I finally just put the original tire back under there and am figuring out what I want to do with the MT 🤷‍♂️

Who took off the factory heat shield by the spare tire.? Have to ask the question why would Ford spend money to install a heat shield?

 

It's there..... it doesnt cover the entire spare. Only covers where the oem exhaust is run.

mine is the same way, covers only 1/4 of the tire.

 

I have the below it works fantastically well. I used it for everything most recently where my house was losing A/C so I could insulate better. Worth its weight for sure!
