LOL....and thus, my forum handle. No one knows if I drive like a lunatic....or if I'm THAT OLD GUY in the high speed lane with his right turn signal flashing doing 10 under....or if I'm simply a Sammy Hagar fan.

Having riddin with one of those 80 year old guys at Road Atlanta I only wish I was half the driver at any time in my life. That comes from a guy with more driving and racing schools under my belt than I can count. While that may not make me a theat at the next F1 I like to think it at least makes me a better driver than 50% of the motoring public.
An incompetent driver is an incompetent driver and a competent driver is a competent driver. Do I believe we need ongoing skills testing including slide control and spin recovery? Yes, but it should be applied across the board not just to the elderly.
Disclaimer: I still have over a quarter century before I join the group in question in case your wondering.
PS Why does the OP strike me.as Gorilla Marketing for Tesla?

Lets see a Tesla pull a 6500 pound travel trailer up the IKE, and go 150 miles up 6% grades towing it as required through Utah on I-70. Well, actually a lot lot further as what is even less frequent than gas stations are charging stations along that route! LOL
You know what will make every driver out there be a better driver? Skid pad training in a Semi. Guaranteed to leave skid marks, not on the road, but in your shorts.

Realistically, it prolly makes you a better driver than 99% of the motoring population. Outside of the very large problem of inadequate training and license requirements (contrary to the "new think", an operator's permit is NOT a right but a privilege), one of the most glaring skill inadequacies in typical drivers of all ages is a near total lack of knowledge about their vehicles maximum capabilities--in acceleration, braking and lateral g-force loading/road holding. I say this as someone who grew up driving giant, chrome-swaddled road toads shod with nylon-cord, bias-ply tires, useless drum brakes, and all the handling prowess of a Kroger shopping cart with a bent front wheel. No clue as to how or why I lived through my early years of motoring, but just about any vehicle built in the last 5 years is a far more competent handling machine than anything I drove in the 60s. More HP, massively better brakes, tight suspension and sticky tire rubber compounds to make it do what you want. The best example of the leaps in performance since the 60s is the capability of a modern sport motorcycle with the new dual-compound radial tire technology. If you could take a modern 600cc run-of-the-mill Japanese sport bike back in time, you would have beaten the most exotic and expensive factory machines and been the GP champion on every continent many times over....all for about $7000-$8000.

OH this is SOOO true!!! Amazing how many people can't understand, they may have the right to own a vehicle, but they do not have the right to drive it on public roads. I think that it is way too easy to get a drivers license, and it shows in how poorly most drivers are. Some of them find out how bad they are the hard way when they cut off a Semi and get run over.

I was going to say it was retarded to compare an automated-driving car with LKA on ANY vehicle (not just Fords), but it'd be an insult to retards. It's just idiotic. My only beef is it disconnects almost immediately after releasing the steering wheel. Like somebody said, if you're driving, you don't really need that crap, with the exception if you're feeling groggy or sleepy... but you shouldn't be driving like that. I hardly ever use LKA except maybe after eating something (completely alone on the road, of course), when you become a bit lethargic. I've tried it while eating, to avoid wandering, but doesn't help since it disconnects seconds after releasing wheel. So I have to eat with one hand and watch the road, like always. He he. But kudos to Ford for offering a correcting option, plus different levels of vibration. The blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise are much more useful driving aids, which fortunately my truck also has.

Ford has lane centering working on a few cars like 2019 Ford Edge. I suspect it won't be long before F150 has it, since competition is fierce. Here is a list:
