Default damage by dealer

Done with this. Just keeping my truck and moving on. Not giving Ford a 4th chance. I realize things get scratched up over time anyway, just don't like that it's Ford that can't reassemble a truck, or care for it in their custody while being repaired.
Mine went in to replace defective gauges...simple 4 screws 1/2 hr job...When I picked it up I noticed scratches on top center area of dashboard. Mechanic obviously put tools there and wasn't careful...My dealer was Great...They said they would replace whole dash if needed, (major job that I did not want do go thru, about $3000 cost to dealer) so I negotiated some product as compensation...weathertech mats, ford bed extender & ford wheel well liners...So that made me happy...and the scratches are far less noticeable after a little detailing work on my part

Tape arrived today from Amazon. Praying it solves the annoying rattling. Have left the sunroof tilted open too many times over night. I will let you know if it fixes my rattle.

Keep us posted. It's starting to catch on I think. And haven't seen it not work for anyone yet. I forget the name of the original person to do it but I am very thankful for them posting the idea!

I'm following this closely. I'm guessing those of you that bought a full roll have a ton of it leftover, I'd be willing to buy a strip from ya and pay for postage.

What exactly is the slick tape doing if the issue reported previously was an intolerance between the roof glass and the metal frame that holds it? Could have sworn I read that assessment earlier.....

I am not sure it's a fix all for everyone, but so far it has removed the noise for everyone who has tried it. I think lots of the prior fixes were speculation as was this originally. So not sure there really was/ is Aussie with the glass and metal. Mine was 100% where the two places meet.

Let me see what length is needed and divide that to cover cost and shipping per pice and I will be willing to ship off some to anyone wanting to try it. Great idea!

Well got the tape installed and the results were good but did not totally eliminate my noise. I will say that there are now fewer rattles and the rattling that is happening does not seem as loud. Bottom line I would do this again and don't feel like I wasted $20-25. I would also recommend this.

Thanks for the heads up. I too had the pop. I am still pleased with the results and if they improve that's even better.

Yea, I had a 75% or so decrease at first but with time it's now down to where I don't even hear anything on most any drive.
