Mine does the same thing. Its the gaskets or whatever in the middle between the to panels sticking.

So after 8 days of the dealer having my truck and completing the TSB for the rattle I have a noise coming from the front. It is the bar for the air vent that pops up which moves around over bumps. Springs that hold it secure are weak from what I can see. Gonna skip the dealer this time to avoid losing my ride for another extended period of time.

I thought this too, I wrapped tape around the bar for the wind deflector and it didn't help. When shifting the bar side to side it made a similar noise, but in the end I had to have my whole roof rack replaced to the fix the issue. Now half a year later my moonroof is starting to pop again. This time it sounds a bit different so I'm hoping applying grease will fix it.

WTF can't Ford figure out this panel moon roof problem? I'm ordering without one. It sure is sexy though.

Thanks nad. I was leaning that way for an easy fix too to avoid the dealer. Maybe I will try working on the springs on the sides to keep it tighter.

And yes, MarkY, it looks great just a pain when its making that noise. Maybe I need some new speakers to block the noise out. Hmm...

You all need to go back a rad post #554.

This is not a gasket problem.

It sucks how quickly the solved problem gets forgotten within the same message thread.

Early on I posted how Ford quietly redesigned the entire frame and track system and have all new part numbers for them and that too was forgotten.

The lube TSB will temporarily quiet this problem, but not fix it. You will all end up with an inoperative sunroof once it breaks, just like mine has along with many others.

Got my truck back from the dealer today and the sun roof is fixed as far as being able to open and close but the knocking is still present. I'll wait for the noise to be worse and keep sending it until I can lemon it.

What did they replace, exactly? I've been waiting a month for the track and rail parts to come in. They were supposed to call me when the parts arrived. So, I called them today. Parts came in weeks ago - NO CALL!

Never knew owing a new truck would be this much work on my part.
