You can get the tailgate without the chrome panel if you don't order the chrome appearance package. I have a KR on order without the chrome package, I prefer the body colored handles, the KR wheels, and the body colored mirrors and did not want the tailgate chrome panel. I went with the KR primarily because of the interior. I built all 3, Lariat, KR, and Platinum with the same options and went with the KR. My current 2015 Lariat is loaded with with all of the options of a Platinum (it was the owners demo) minus the moonroof which I did not want and was the main reason I bought the truck. My biggest disappointment with my 2015 Lariat is the seats, they are not as good a quality as the 2004 Lariat that I traded in.

My choice of the three (KR) was primarily based on the interior. The cost differential between them was not a factor in my case.

LOL What does that have to do with anything? My grandfather in-law's farm is over 100 years old, he has 8000 acres of farmland, and he drives the base model Sierra. All he ever buys is the base models because it's for work. And he can very well afford to buy whatever he wants considering the amount he drops for new farm equipment and upgrades to his house and his giant RV. Ignorant comment.

I can tell you money was not an issue when picking out the ford I purchased. Between platinum king ranch and lariat. I simply loved the lariat over the other 3. Bought a lariat sport 4x4 with everything you can add to it. Love the look of it more then the other 2 that's why I went with The lariat.

thats awesome. You referred to an extended family that you married into to tell me he has 8000 acres and most likely subsidized. I was stating that the vehicles I see towing cattle and horse trailers etc in north Texas are KRs and not per the comment that all cowboys drive base model manuals. Have fun driving the 8000 acres that aren't yours.

this brought to mind a convo i had a few days ago about why i got a lariat hd with a msrp of 55k vs a raptor @ 60k. easy is what i said. i needed a work truck i can play with vs a toy that can't work like i need it to.

Its definitely up to everyone's judgment on which you would like more but I think platinum, king ranch, and lariat all pretty much around the same price when maxed.

First, no, none was subsidized, it's over 100 years old and was all purchased. Second, my grandfather was also a livestock farmer. Third, my point was that your comment about Canadians not knowing about farming is ignorant and just makes you seem like a redneck hillbilly. You live in Texas, good for you, there's farmers there too, I know, and I know because I'm not ignorant. I've also been to Texas. You must live in a small little world in your life. You should probably travel more, or read a book.

Farmers usually have 2 sets of trucks from what I know. 1 for the farm, which is the old beater and another high end one to scoot around in around town. All about those tax deductions.

This is exactly why I prefer the KR over the Lariat and Platinum. I hate the chrome door handles and mirrors on the Platinums and the 502A Lariats. I also prefer the look of the KR interior vs the other two as well. I love the color matched bumpers too, yeah I know they chip but it's worth it.
