40 months later, I get the "replace key battery" once again. Battery voltages are 3.007V, and 3.009V

Just had to do this over the weekend on my 2020 key fob

Grabbed these off Amazon no issue so far.

Voltage on the cell after it is removed is not the same as the voltage under load. Lithium cells are particularly good examples of this.

This is true with any battery.

Yes but more so with lithium coin cells than others.

If the fob doesn’t work, replace cell. If it does work then old cell was bad. If it still doesn’t work then new cell may be bad, or it may be good. Try yet another cell from another source.

If open circuit voltage low then cell is bad. If reasonable then it might be good or bad.

Key Fob was still working, but I was getting a message that the "key battery was low"
