I am just not sure if this will turn off the “hands on wheel” warning. In fact I am willing to bet it will not turn that off, but turns off the sleepy/coffee cup reminder.

What I've noticed is that you will get the warning if you are drifting in your lane and the lane keep assist is making corrections. The corrections can be very small, you will notice the steering wheel move slightly. But keeping a loose hold on the steering wheel with no counter movement to the corrections will cause the warning.

there's a lane keep assist button behind your gear sifter. hit that and that will disable it.

Also if you go to vehicle setting in you gauge cluster screen then advance settings I think and there are options for lane assist. You can set, medium, moderate, high for the steering shake etc.

I know I can disable lane keep *** but I don't want to. It isn't the vibrations either. The problem is the popup on the display and the chimes that follow.

That's it job to annoy you to make sure you don't doze off.. The get coffee one is to tell you that it thinks you have been dozing off..

I personally enjoy having her company on my trips.

Oh, I thought it was telling you NOT to be drinking coffee and driving.
Probably good I don't have that.

In my case it's probably not a safety feature,, as it means time to pour some water into my 12volt coffee cup and plugging it in to heat up the water. Then once it's good and hot get the jar of instant coffee out and put some in the cup and stirring it. Then putting the stuff away and enjoying my coffee..

All while driving along at 80mph.. Good thing I have the ACC and auto lane keeping features..

Instant coffee? Oh, how gauche. I think I could easily fit a Nespresso maker in the center storage console.

I had a 2016 Platinum and would get this pretty frequently. I have had the 2018 for about 1500 miles and haven't seen the message once.
