Just took delivery. Not as ordered.

At the least see if they will swap the gears. Sounds like you have pretty good documentation that they would be 3.73. I had a 5.0 with 3.31's and hated the constant downshifting. Needs at least a 3.55 with stock tires and 3.73 if you're going much bigger.
4A may be a big deal to you as well. I've always wanted it, but never had it. If it's not, try for the gears or get them to swap trucks. I suspect there are no trucks you would want to swap for because of you specific request of long bed and bench seat.
Good luck! It is a beautiful truck!!!

I had 4A in my 2013 platinum and also have it now in my 2016 platinum. I honestly did not like it. In snow/ice it did not perform well. Would freak out when tapping the brakes coming to a stop sign in slippery conditions. 4HI works like a charm and also improves your stopping and take off capability. Again, all this experience in snow/ice. I don't off-road in mud so I would not know how it does in those conditions.

No matter how old I get, and how convinced I am that I am an educated buyer, I always end up learning lessons. By the time I'm 80 I might just know enough to be completely happy with an automobile transaction.

Not sure what that has to do with it. The dealer/sales person made some mistakes but it was compounded by the OP accepting delivery of said mistakes. The snowplow prep "issue" is not really one since it was offered and the OP said yes. But the salesperson would have known it would have deleted the 4A as the website won't even let you put the two together. I think the OP has a point of contention about the 3.73 gears though. While they probably won't do anything about that (such as swapping out for 3.31...), I would see if they would provide some free maintenance. Obviously, try to get everything you really want from the dealer, but also be realistic about what you'll get.
I've never ordered a vehicle from the factory before; always tried to find one that matches most of my want list and take that. If I did though, I would go through the delivery, line item by line item to ensure I got exactly what I was expecting before accepting it.

Unfortunately you will always be learning since car buying is always changing.

Yeah that misshap on the 3.31 vs. 3.73 would definitely tick me off.
I would press the matter with a manager...that effectively changes your towing numbers....and combined with the larger/heavier tire would make that truck somewhat anemic.

If i ordered a pickup with 3.73s and it came with 31s there is NO doubt I would not take that pickup until it's corrected. That's almost as bad as ordering a certain motor and getting a different one.

Just curious, but did you get an order sheet like the one I received for my 2016? I had to sign that before they would order the truck.
If you got one, and it does not match your window sticker, then you could argue that they gave you the wrong truck, obviously not what you ordered.
If you did not get to sign, and receive, a copy of the order, then your dealer might not be as great as you think he is.
Either way, it is always a mandatory practice to spend at least an hour going over your new truck, and checking everything before you accept delivery.
I learned that from this forum, search "pre-delivery things to check" in this thread.
BTW, I ordered Jan. 19, took delivery, in Las Vegas, Mar. 4. Ford can do it, when they try.
