So today I'm going to post them.

I apologize in advance but this will be another long story-skip to the end if you just want the numbers but I want everyone to understand why I'm saying what I'm saying. And that is that I would without a doubt and without ANY reservation recommend Kelly ford in Beverly MA. (1ish hour south of Manchester NH, less than an hour if no traffic north of Boston). There have been two other members who bought from there- so I've been told. One, I contacted via PM's back in the early-mid spring and never heard back from him. I also have not seen him pop up in this thread since that time. It's possible he's still active on the forum, just not this thread. The other, I don't know who they are.

In this area, (MA/CT/VT) I was averaging 5-6% when I would cast my net out. I'd have a nearly fully spec'd Lariat or a Platty- which, I didn't want a Platinum per say but my unicorn was a 502A SE with certain features that would put it within 1-2k of a platinum- and the dealers would proudly say their OTD was 60-61k. On a 64-66k truck, that's not really a steal. Especially not when rebates were around 2k for the better part of my shopping time. Then, I cast my net further down into MD and the DC metro. As ya'll may have read earlier, most of that negotiating was with Koons. Koons also wasn't budging, though their discounts averaged 9-10%. However, if you add in tolls, gas down (likely in a rental b/c DH wasn't wanting to make that drive so adding in rental fee), then gas and tolls back....I'd estimate .5-1% loss of discount to compensate. Not to mention, I'd driven the Baltimore to Springfield MA corridor several times when we were moving from there to here and the timing is crucial otherwise you'll hit some nasty traffic in a few spots. Not bad enough delays that you'd need a hotel, but bad enough to make it a tiresome trip. Thus, my thoughts were if I was to go down there; or deeper into VA where it meets the NC border- where I'm originally from- I'd need at least a 12% discount off the truck to really make it worth the while.

I just wasn't getting that. Even the infamous Koons isn't really budging past their initial offer right now. I had my eyes on a black Platinum at Battlefield (the same one drummermike may or may not have bought though I said nothing when he/she posted about it) and they were a joke. I could still recommend people go to Koons in the future- right now all across the country negotiations aren't the best so it's not them per say. That's just the way the negotiating climate seems to be ATM. But battlefield? I don't know how they sell ANY cars at all. I'm STILL waiting for a quote from an email I sent them over a week and a half ago. All I would say is unless you're willing to abandon everything this thread has taught and go in person? They show no interest.

So, I was really getting discouraged and decided, okay, I'm clearly not going to get my unicorn, what's the first thing about it that I could live with if I didn't have? The color was the answer. I wanted Magma. I ended up in Lead Foot. But I jump ahead. I ended up finding my truck at Kelly.

I had come across this truck more than once and always cast it out b/c lead foot was just not a color I was interested in. It had a spray in and I'd planned on a Rhino or LineX. It also had power running boards and I thought I wasn't interested in those (turns out, I love the feature) plus this time of year travel eastward on the pike is a nightmare Thu-Tu b/c of Cape traffic. So I always ignored the truck. Thursday night -late like 10 or 11pm- I sent a message through their site asking for info on the truck. The blue box MSRP of my truck was 64,160 and their internet 'wow' price was 56k approximately. I figured, that's better than every dealer I've dealt with other than Battlefield. What the heck, I'll see what they offer. I got a response FIRST thing morning from Sabrina. I know now she is in internet sales, but didn't know that then. I figured she was just a regular rep picking up some internet leads. She came back with a price of 54,998. That was within spitting distance of what Battlefield wanted for the black version of my truck (they wanted 55 something for the black platinum).

I figured, okay, they have pulled freight out of this equation and thrown in rebates like mil and first responder to do this kind of deal. So I commented back and asked for a breakdown of what rebates and how much said rebates were, what the dealer discount was, doc/processing fees, and if the freight was pulled out. Sabrina replied literally within an hour, no more than two. That in and of itself was amazing- elsewhere it would be a day or so between communication. The result? The offer already INCLUDED freight. So no need to add it back in. It included $500 VIN specific (truck's build date was 31 Oct with stickers pulled on 29 Oct so old stock), $1500 rebate, and $1000 certificate. Didn't even have to ask for it. She just stated that as long as I financed with Ford and made it in to get the truck while they still had certificates, my price was 54,998 with a $402 document fee.

Obviously, ya'll know I took the truck. And I outlined the story earlier of how that team did everything in their power to send me home in my truck (and why in MA that isn't always a given) that day. Mike, my actual sales guy, ended up bringing me my truck using his personal car with a coworker driving it and him driving my truck. Both ways it's a 4 hour trip WITHOUT traffic. And I didn't ask for that. I'd just said we'd come get the truck the following weekend b/c truthfully neither DH nor I work close to home. We have long commutes back home and THEN a commute out to Beverly and back was just not in the cards. Is it the first time I've had someone do that? No, I leased my Lexus from a dealer in CT, and thanks to funny laws they had to do the same, but we're talking 1.5 hours round trip worse case. Plus, Lexus. You kind of think they'd go out of their way. When mike dropped my car off it was 90% full of gas. Lexus did not give me a full tank- I actually had to put gas in it that next morning just to go to work. And he didn't just drop it off and hand me the keys like Lexus. He went through the truck top to bottom and sideways. He forgot my 2nd key and said he'd mail it. More like, he next day air'd it bc it'll be here tomorrow before 10AM. They didn't inspect it but have already set up reimbursing me because they didn't. But more than all that was just the way I was treated. It's odd to say that being treated with respect and like a valued customer is so shocking- but that's how I was treated. NO games AT ALL. No shell game with my numbers, no issues anywhere. If they weren't so far away they'd be maintaining my truck too.

When this is paid off and I can FINALLY get my 'Stang? Kelly will be my first contact.

So without further adieu- the numbers:

Congrats! I had a similar wonderful experience with Sarchione Ford in Randolph, OH. They lured me in with an internet quote that contained an aggressive offer for my Pacifica. I was expecting a bunch of games when I got to the store but there was none of that. The deal was exactly as they said. Royce was amazing to work with. I would recommend anyone looking for a truck near Akron give Sarchione a shot.

Isn't it odd that a deal that moves as it should with no games is the rare exception? LOL

I forgot to mention that my truck had 'sold' twice and it fell through. Each time the buyer couldn't get financed for enough to fully cover the truck- or so I was told. There were 48 miles on it when I got in to test drive, so I can't say for sure. At this point, I suspect Kelly just wanted it moved. Top and I suspected as much- that they wanted to cut their losses- but after hearing that, I'm pretty sure I happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Congrats on the purchase. We are looking for nearly the same options at the same time except I wanted black. I have a Lariet 502A Sport 3.5EB 3.55 36 Gal Max Tow. The only thing it was missing was tow mirrors, but those seem quite rare.

Yeah, tow mirrors was the other option I had to give up on. The V8 and color made it more difficult too. I also lost the IBC with my build, I was looking for it. If it weren't for the love of the SE interior and other features (BUT NOT THESE STRIPES GAH) I would've just gone with a different trim and called it a day. I can't do the overchromed KR- which is rarely ordered in NE, but when it is it almost always had the chrome package- and I didn't want a 3.5 (nor a 70k truck with blue interior) so the LTD was out. Also, it's rarely ordered up here by me anyway. Mostly XLT/Lariat country by me, and it's easily 5:1 for XLT.

First, sorry for the novel. Thank you Top and everyone else - so thankful I found this thread when I did. And thank you Wikel!$!$

Second, let me preface this by saying this was THE truck. Color, options, wheel size, etc. No local dealer could compete with price - 6-7% at best for a truck that would be “good enough” from my preferences, but not my unicorn. None had exactly what I wanted so I cast the net on Ford.com and there she was (only 1 within a reasonable distance). So, I drove 4 hours to get this one (sure it was time on the road and $100 for a one-way rental and gas, but worth it). This was also NOT a volume dealer, but the truck had a date of 12/17. They likely needed to move it, but also had interest in it that may have limited further discounts. All things considered this was a great deal (IMO) for a Lariat given the current climate, and the PCO made it too good to pass up.

There were no issues with this deal and I couldn’t speak more highly of who I worked with and the overall experience. Maybe it was because it was a small town of 50k, but they were nice, not pushy and responsive. I worked this particular deal for less than a month and he got straight to business (yes, I know some of you made skeptical reading this...saying “you should have held out longer”). Maybe I could have gotten more off if I waited, but I wasn’t going to push the deal and risk losing the truck that I longed for and not another one like it anywhere close. Plus with the PCO expiring and work travel coming up I wanted to finalize it given the prices. I’ll let the numbers talk though. So, if you’re interested in finding something in Oklahoma, PM me for details.

Awesome and congrats! I'm just starting this journey (getting serious about buying) and my preference is a Lariat as well.

Did you have to ask for the $1000 certificate? Did you cloak your name for the PCO, and if so, did you do it with a simple spelling error?

I know some dealers like to play bs games with the package discounts. If you are communicating by email just politely call them out on the BS.

On the PCO, just wait till the very end after the deal is completely done to pull out the PCO. Technically they can't deny it. They will be happy that Ford is helping them sell trucks by giving out incentives.

As far as the discounts, I am not sure about the discount % in your area, but for north California it looks pretty good. May be Top or someone will chime in.

In the end if you don't be a hardball and leave a little bit of money for them, they will not give too much trouble or play games at the finance office.

Good luck.

I received 4 quotes today and all of them used the MSRP number before the package discounts. I’m only communicating thru email.

Even with package discount included, you are getting a good deal I think. The deal I got was about 9.3% (MSRP - 53,200 (including $2500 package discount), discounted price $47,400 before rebates and PCO. Your deal looks like about that much. Blue box MSRP of 53010 about 9.5% is $5000. I would say it is a good deal. Since you have a PCO, leave them about 1.0% so they can make some money too. I used to hate dealerships and salesmen but very recently I had some real good conversations with a few of them which made me realize they are human beings as we are. Those guys are under a lot of stress to make sales. Most dealerships are going away from commission basis to straight $$ per sale type payments. I would be perfectly happy with giving 1 - 1.5%, just so they can stay in business and put up with $$ obnoxious people like us. I used to nitpick every $$, but I think otherwise now. Just my $.02. As long as I have a good deal and I am getting a good treatment I am satisfied. Since you are getting the PCO, you are way ahead of 98% of buyers already.

I would just find out if $699 doc fee is legit or not... That looks outrageous.
