I'm glad you got the truck you wanted. You taking the time to work multiple dealers over a couple of weeks saved substantial money for you in the end.

The dealership most definitely did not take a loss on that truck. Not surprised, however, that they will lie their *** off if they think they can squeeze some more money out of it. Also, it appears they were blaming the previous salesperson; didn't a sales manager sign off on that deal at some point?

Ethics is a foreign word to most dealers. Their double talk was especially ridiculous since your order (or dealer trade, if that is what it was) was already delivered and you even put up with some damage (fixed or not).

Good for you for not backing down.

Nice truck!

My Journey is getting further down the road. My Truck was built yesterday as indicated on the Window Sticker in Cotus and now on Cotus where i moved to delivery. My delivery date also moved to 11/30, vs 12/10 yesterday. So this is almost a 23 day change from what Cotus originally stated which was 12/22. If Delivery is 11/30, then this was about 6 weeks with my order being placed 10/17 and i had a priority 19 on my order. 6 weeks is very fair and efficient for a build.

Now my potential problem. The dealer has been fair and my Selling price with no addendum's or additions and a $250 Dealer processing fee is $59,900 on a Blue box MSRP truck of $66,950. I am net about $400 less than Hold back, which is a good deal on an order, but not as great a deal as some others, but I am happy. At this point I have a cash letter for $750 (Thanks to toptobottom), a Texas Land bureau rebate of $1,000 (that i will qualify for tomorrow, i will then be a member for 30 days) and a Sam's Club/True Car rebate of $500. All these will stack on top of whatever the dealer has, according to both Ford and my salesman who checked. So that's another $2250. However i was hoping for a December delivery date so i could get December year end incentives. I called my sale guy and asked if i could buy on Black Friday if the car comes i and get whatever deal is available. My salesman said yes (I know I am taking a risk signing before i take delivery, but depending on the deal it may be worth it.)

So my long winded question is, has anyone heard of what Black Friday will bring for 2018 King Ranch Trucks?

Yes, the sales manager who signed off on the deal was off the day i went in. so I was dealing with a different sales person and different sales manager yesterday doing my deal.

Awesome negotiation and your propensity to stand firm ground on the original deal. They tried but they know you could easily beat them in court because the laws are pretty good with that, plus the bad publicity factor.

You got a whopping 14.04% 'True Dealer Discount' percentage with the $199 factored out.

Hmmm....at 14.04 percent, maybe they had less profit than I thought. I don't think they lost $1300 as they claimed, but that is indeed a whopping discount percentage!

Belzer does 14% on many of their trucks. Granted, this Dealer may have made a mistake somewhere and it wasn't supposed to be that much. I guarantee they screwed Buyers on the next 5 sales to make up for the loss. Now, they're back in the black.

The truck was delivered last week but was scratched during transport, so it was in the body shop until yesterday. The day before pickup I received a text from the salesperson who was working my deal letting me know she had been terminated from the dealership. I was assigned a new salesperson, who had no background on the deal we had agreed to. When I got to the dealer, they tried going back on their deal telling me they "dont know how the previous person came up with these numbers" They told me they would be loosing 1300$ on my deal. I told them, if they did not honor the deal we agreed to when i placed my order I would let them keep the truck and walk. They discussed with the manager for a few minutes and came back out letting me know they were going to take the loss on the truck and sell it to me for our agreed price. Whether or not they are actually taking a loss, I dont know. But I got my truck and thats what mattered to me.

Final Numbers:
MSRP: 61,925
Price: 54,500
Rebates: 500 (custom cash), 750 (ford financing), 750 (private cash offer)
Final Price 52,500$
Admin Fee 199$

Thanks to all who posted on this thread, reading it was very helpful in my negotiations.

I need to stop reading this forum. Everytime Ford change the F150, I get that itch to trade my truck for the newer one. Mine is a 2016 and it feels so old now compared to the 2018s with the new grill. This truck is beautiful. Congratulations dude!

Proud new owner of a 2018 Lariat here! Read a little bit of this thread to help out but it seemed like I was getting no where. I think I got an ok price for it.

Bluebox MSRP 61,300

Selling price 55,479 with ford 500 rebate equaled 54,979 (did not have ford private cash(tried for months!), did not do ford finance since I got a really low APR from credit union)

Sellers initial quote included the ford financing rebate, which I was pretty blindsided by but I got him to throw in the bed liner and rubber floor mats, paid for wheel locks and tint.

Doc fee 150

Crazy thing is this dealerships drive out price was the same as another I was quoted for, but with this one I got $1,150 worth of add ons.

So how did I do?

Congrats on the new truck. Since you are asking, I'll answer.....I think the price was probably a bit too high.

Why wouldn't you just refinance with your credit union (they will still give you the same low rate in a week, and you get about a grand for free if you finance through Ford to begin with, then just refinance in a week or two-there is no penalty no matter what the sales staff say). I never get why people don't do that. Don't take it personally, just chalk it up to experience this time and next time you will know to do it.

Some people don't get anything off (although I think that is pretty rare) so getting thousands off is of course better than no discount.

Enjoy the truck!
