Default Good deal?

Looking for a 2017 F-150 XLT 2.7L Ecoboost 4X2 with 302A package.

Window sticker is here

http://www.windowsticker.forddirect....EW1CP1HFA81098

Just got a quote from a dealer in GA.

Is this an ok deal? what can I do to get a sweeter deal? Thanks for your advice.

they are really confusing the situation with their math. Doc fee is outrageous, "retail price" must be including 2700 in dealer installed accessories because the msrp is only 42,670. Invoice will be ~40,440, holdback of around 1,250.

If you do 0% financing through ford you get $0 rebates, $3,300 in rebates with a 2.9% (both for 60mo), or $5,550 in rebates if you take a normal rate (4.7% at best) through ford, or $4,300 in rebates if you bring your own cash/financing to the table.

Now, taking all of this into consideration, the final amount is actually very good, just the way they get there is off. I'd expect it to look like this if they were breaking it down properly.

MSRP $42,670
Dealer Discount $whatever
rebates $5,550
TAVT (GA gov. site math actually said this should be something like $2200, don't know how they got their number)
Doc Fee 399
Fees (please have them explain, could be legit)

Net Sale Price $3x,xxx

yea whats up with their math? The numbers don't line up or make sense. Im pretty sure that tax value is way off like stowaway said. I guess we are assuming you are registering GA, but an average tax rate of 6% would be ~1800. So the 976 shown is only like 3.5% of 31.3k sales price?

I mentioned the difference between retail price and window sticker, the dealer said they tinted windows. But I think $2700 would be too expensive for tinting. They might have done other installed accessories. Will ask to clarify.

I would register it in Alabama. So the tax should be 2% - 4%.

Thanks to Stowaway and SilverSurfer15.

ahh, well then, I guess that solves the tax situation! lol

They probably did some kind of paint protection deal or something,to answer your question I think this is a smoking deal. I doubt it gets much better, its ~30% off if you use their inflated MSRP value, its still like ~28% off if you use the real msrp. I was happy to get 26% and had to fight for it lol.

Personally, I think they are showing you most of that ~2700 in the discount section:

45,369-13500 (inflated MSRP and discount to make it look more appealing)

or

42,670 - 10,800 (no sales gimmicks numbers)

Same outcome. Just my opinion here. The overall price vs MSRP is great in either case I think.

EDIT: I know why, its the MSRP off the window sticker 45,170 before the package discounts, plus 199 for your tint. Thats your total 45,369 number. They are using the 2500 in ford package discount on the sticker as part of the savings, so I was right before hand about them showing it in the discounts. Ive seen this several times now. Your real percentage off the real MSRP is right at 25%. I think thats as good as it gets. You could always hit them for another 500 off lol, thats what i did in this same exact situation to go from 25 to 26% off.

Try testing them to get you through their doors with deposit in hand at $38,250. Sit on that and see if they come back on that. If not tell them you'll be good at $39,000 so you can get it back to about 12.5%. Worst case is take it with their current OTD quote because that's way better than most have negotiated here. It's a fact that some areas do better than others in negotiations.

Good luck and let everyone know what you settled at. Maybe the end of month in the next few days will be your best friend to get them to go to your lower price. Also the July 4th weekend may be a shot too. Keep in mind Incentives end July 5th so you have to take delivery by that day. I'm betting that Ford will ante up with Incentives again though, possibly a bit higher to move inventory and get Dealers some space for the 2018's.
Welp, went and picked it up tonight. Decided to take the offered deal. My local dealers couldn't touch it. Possibly could have squeezed out a little more money but I didn't want to risk someone else snatching up the truck over a few hundred. In the end I was itching to get a new truck since my old one is a sitting duck. Of course I didn't let any dealers know I was pressed. I'm happy with the deal. Especially after some of the initial "deals" I was presented elsewhere. Thanks again!

Congrats!

This was a good call because you already had a great deal and you could've risked losing it to another Buyer for only a few hundred dollars. This is the time of the year when trucks with the better options will start getting scooped up. If you're in an area where you have alot of backup choices then you'd be safe to play hardnose.

You provide no details to go off of.

YOUR Zip Code (where you're registering the truck)
Are you planning to use the Ford Conditional Offer of the Ford Motor Credit $1,250?
Are you planning to trade-in?
Do you qualify for any additional incentives like Military, Grad student, etc.,?

If you think you're going to buy a truck later in the day and they'll bend over backwards to give you a 12% Dealer discount then you may be surprised. I would be real surprised myself unless some Dealer is having their ***** to the wall for 4th of July sales event.

Keep in mind you're already a winner going into this truck because it was manufactured in Jan./2017 so you have a built-in savings of approx $500 because of price increases in the 'Base price' and 'Destination charge' starting with trucks manufactured in April.

$52,030 Window Sticker Total MSRP
$-1,195 Destination & Delivery
$50,835 Dealer Retail (vehicle + options/Ford discounts)

$50,835 X .12% =$6,100 Dealer discount

$52,030 Total MSRP
$-6,100 Dealer discount
$45,930 'Selling price' BEFORE Ford Incentives and TTL & Doc Fees

So it turned midnight and Ford.com shows no available incentives offers. It'll be interesting to see what happens next. I bet Dealers would experience a major sales slowdown if new ones aren't posted soon.
