I was responding to you and the other guy that said figuring your trade, if you have one, into a deal is wrong.
Just replying it makes no difference. If you score your new truck for 20k under msrp, but take 10k less than your trade is worth, you didn't really get 20k off.
Or getting 10k off, a good price for the trade, and then you pay a 800 buck dealer fee or whatever.
The difference between trade and new is really all that matters. You should know what that should be, and go do your deal.
Won't clutter the thread anymore, keep posting those deals!

How negotiable are options that are already on the window sticker? I would consider a sport at a dealer but it has the optional 20" wheels which is a deal breaker for me. I prefer the standard sport 18's.

Well, since its nearing the end of the year and prices are still dropping, I'm holding out a little longer for a better deal--which I think is likely soon.
My bottom line... first one to $45k gets my business. I'm in for around $50k OTD.
I'm seeing similar to identical trucks in other states hitting the mid $44s, so I know it will eventually get there. The sheer amount of available trucks really works in the buyer's favor.

I've only seen one of the six I'm tracking in the South sell, and it was in the low 44s.. I would probably come out $2K-$3K ahead buying a one-way ticket to TX somewhere and driving back... if I could get the time off to do it.
In the last 4 months only ONE truck out of 14 that I am price tracking has sold in SoCal. And the two dealers that I have in the running for the truck I want haven't sold a single F-150 in 90-120 days!
These trucks are simply priced too high... and when Chevy is doing 20% off of MSRP and Ford is playing up and down games in the 10% range... well, you don't get customers to buy your products with that nonsense.
I've have never had such a battle to buy a truck at a decent price as this... some dealers are still pushing to get people to pay full MSRP. That's just nuts.

Not sure what your looking for, but in the higher trim trucks, I've noticed a huge amount of them disappearing from inventory all of the sudden (in Texas). Of the 20 or so I had been tracking since June of this year, all but 4 remained at the time I purchased last week. Most of them sold in November.

No one in SoCal has quite figured that out yet, so I can benefit to wait a little longer... I'm ready to go, so I can jump immediately if I have to. If I start to see trucks moving off lots, I'll drop in with a briefcase full of cash and point to my truck.
Congrats on your new truck
