DISCOUNT JEDI MASTER
Looking for opinions/knowledge. I have a dealer I am working with that is telling me that they have $250 coupons/incentives from Ford that they will apply to my transaction on top of the factory incentives. I know that I qualify for $1,500 incentives on a 2018 Platinum. The dealer is telling me that he can get me another $1,000 using 4 of these "coupons". He said 4 is the max they can use. Has anyone heard of this before?
The cash price before incentives/coupons is still high in my opinion by $1,500. But by using these "coupons" we getting close.Would you still negotiate on the cash price amount before incentives?

I've decided to order a 2018 Lariat. My dealer told me the current incentives run through 04.02.2018. I understand none of you have a crystal ball, but historically speaking, do the incentives only get better as the year goes on? I've been told an ordered truck takes 6-8 weeks for delivery and I will get the better of either the incentives offered at delivery or at time of ordering. I'd ultimately like to be driving my truck no later than late April. I'm trying to decide if it would be in my best interest to wait another month before I order so I could take advantage of better incentives in April.

So, I've been going back and forth on what I want to do about a new truck. I was going to order one soon and have it in the spring, but I looked at local dealers online out of curiosity and found two.
They're both XLT 302A Tow Package and Sport Package Trucks, one is a 2.7 the other is a 3.5. Realistically, while I want the 3.5 the 2.7 is plenty of truck for me. I'd go for that unless the 3.5 was only a little higher.
2.7 MSRP is ~49k, 3.5 is ~52k. I can build the 3.5 I want for about $48 MSRP and I can build the 2.7 for just under $46 I think, so both trucks have some extras I don't care about but they're the closest things I can find.
2.7 Dealer Internet List is ~$44k after incentives, $1100 discount before incentives. I haven't talked to them yet.
Been reading through the thread and finding so much conflicting info.
Do you think $40 before TTT is a realistic number to shoot for on a 2.7 Mag Gray Sport w/ 302a, Tow, FX4, 36 Gal Fuel Tank, Brake Controller, XLT Power Equipment Group, and 20" Wheels? That's about where it'd need to be for me to justify doing it early, and I don't want to waste anyone's time going to the dealer if I'm not being realistic.

All depends what the MSRP & Selling prices & Doc fee are. You have to provide this because it all hedges against what the certificates bring the numbers to. I'm not sure if they have a limit as to what they can stack in the way of certificates. Also, one needs to take in account what area the truck is being negotiated because of the differences in Dealer discounting.
Attached are the sticker and sales sheet. According to the Ford website I quailfy for $1,500 in incentives, the additional $1,000 is from these "coupons".

My TDD would have been 11.02% except I had a late trade and as TTB likes to say they were probably willing to go deeper in return so the "true" part of that is suspect. Since I am happy with what I got for my trade it doesn't bother me - did you have a trade factored in to this deal? I'm looking at, what, 8.5-ish% TDD on your deal - which isn't bad, don't panic, just making sure we have this correct.
Edit: I see you got hit for $595 for White Platinum Metallic TC (Tri-Coat) which I guess is one of the "premium" colors and $50 for the e-lock diff (which I have but was N/C for me not sure why it's $50 on yours). Those plus the box steps and mats come out to about a grand, so there's half the difference I guess.
I have noticed the Dark Marsala interior is a little harder to come by being new this model year so maybe those don't get discounted as much. I have the black interior.

Just bought a super crew XLT. Sticker 50200.00. 4554.00 discount. 3955.00 if I figure in the BS 599.00 dealer fee. 6000.00 rebates and 2000.00 certificates for a total of 11995.00 off of sticker.

Planetix, sticker is the sticker and the sales sheet is their offer. They are including $1,000 in ford coupons on top of the $1,500 in factory incentives. That is their total of $2500 in rebates. Their cash price appears to be at invoice with the dealer keeping all the holdback. So these $1000 worth of coupons appears to be "protecting" their hold back. I have not heard of these $250 coupons before. My question would be if these coupons are real they still have room in the deal to the tune of their holdback.

It never hurts to shop around via email and it's painless. That deal doesn't look terrible but I am thinking unless you are stuck on that color (outside and in) and there's a shortage of those in your area you can do better.

I'm going to say "not" - don't intend to be snarky, but seriously, read I've said it before and surely will again, the amount of effort to do so, which will come out to several hours perhaps spread over a few days, is going to be worth the savings in the end.
Lot of people with "truck fever" lately. I know everyone says they aren't but once you get in the buying mode for a purchase like this it is hard to reign in the impulse to just get it over with and drive the new truck. Take a deep breath and a step back and research. Then email the internet departments of the Ford dealers you didn't visit in person (if you met with a salesperson even briefly and they got your name you are going to be stuck with them whether you know it or not) and do it the right way.
Or just buy the thing and be happy if it doesn't seem like it is worth the effort.
