That is actually one of the first questions I ask. What is your Doc fee?, and are there any other fees besides tax/ttl/plates? Establishing this early in the negotiations, prevents them from tacking it on later because you beat them up on the price. Where I live, most dealers don't seem to have extra fees. Generally Destination and Delivery are incl in the MSRP.

Yes, it is included in the MSRP, but not the Internet price

Good luck with Al Packer. Blatant false advertising on their site and it's been going on for years. Back on 2012 I tried dealing with them and they add in every possible rebate, stacking them all together including several that can't be used together. On top of that they add back in freight. Then if you question them on it they will tell you what "crooks" the guys down in Apple Ford in Columbia are because "several of the guys at Al Packer used to work there." Call Apple Ford and they will give you the same story and sales tactics.

Al Packer charges freight on USED trucks. A buddy of mine got a good price on a used truck a few years back and they insisted on charging him freight.

I see quite a few dealers advertise this way. Wondering if anyone has buying experience as to price without A/Z/D? Is this just a come-on or will they sell it to you for the advertsed price?
It's legal, because of the disclaimer. It's misleading, because you won't get that price if you don't qualify. They could also add in the Police discount, the recent college grad discount, etc. It's all misleading.

Years ago I played this game. In fact, when I bought my 3rd new vehicle I drove from Erie, PA to Atlanta because in Erie there was only one of each dealership, and they wouldn't deal. Bought the new vehicle in Atlanta, and drove it back (getting paid mileage for doing so since I was on a business trip).

Each time I bought I took it as a new challenge. When I bought my 3rd minivan back in 2006, the sales manager told my oldest, "you should watch your father and learn from him".

In 2009, after moving back to Michigan in 2007, I discovered X-Plan and that's how I've bought my last two vehicles (our next vehicles should be under A/Z), and I can tell you that all the games playing is not worth the effort. X-Plan is a fair price, especially with the $100 max paperwork fee. It's easy to get - because you can join various organizations to qualify (some require a short waiting period). You're happy, the dealership is happy, the salesperson is happy - it's nicer all around.

Those that want to keep playing these games - more power to them - but I wouldn't ever doing it again.

Well, this thread is partly about learning the ropes on playing the game...

I value the techniques, Data, and info from all who have participated in this thread. If spending 30 hours here can save me a couple grand I am eager to learn!

What dealership? I bought at Sound Ford in Renton and they had by far the best advertised deals I could find in the area.
