I will never understand people who drive their vehicles out onto lakes.

It's quite common in Manitoba, Canada to drive onto the lake. Out on Lake Winnipeg and any given Saturday or Sunday you could see 300-400+ trucks on the ice in some popular fishing areas. Now the ice is 20 inches thick as of mid December so lots of comfort.

Me either. Just walk out there or use a snow mobile or ATV to take your gear. Imagine driving it out there and it falling through while you are driving it. Gonner.

I am scratching my head looking at the other vehicles parked on the ice while they are pulling a truck out of the lake?

Most auto insurance policies are void if the vehicle is driven onto an ice covered lake. That guy could be really screwed.
