CurryBob... thanks for your reply and the photos.

On your 2018, would you be peeling off your rear 4X4 fender stickers too, for that "cleaner look" you speak of? I peeled mine off long ago.

Also, how do you feel knowing that the 2018 Rims for your KR will not be as nice as the ones you have on your 2015?

I was extremely disappointed to learn that the optional 20 inch Rims for the Lariat (which are the standard ones on the KR) are no longer being used in the 2018 model year.

When I get my 2018, I'll be transferring my 2017 Rims over to my 2018.

The rim choices for 2018...

I'm retired and worked hard enough and blessed enough, I have not had a car payment for over 15 years now. I prefer to keep vehicles that have full warranty coverage. So when I trade, I'm just paying the difference in the vehicles and not financing.

I've been putting what amounts to a couple of car payments into savings for decades now. Figures though, when I got financially fee of interest, the current interest rates are the lowest in many decades.

I get a new one every 6 months... and my old one gets shipped off to the USA. I actually come out ahead.

The one I have now... I bought it March 01, 2017

I'm ordering my new one on Tuesday, June 27, 2017

Payments? I consider them monthly rent payments.

I see. What's the average depreciation you're seeing on your trade ins? Like if you paid $70k for your truck, when you trade it in after 3 years, what on average are dealerships offering you?

No depreciation for me.

I come out ahead.

New truck every 6 months.

New interior smell every 6 months.

Warranty starts over again from zero.

New XM Sirius subscription every 6 months.

I get to choose different engines every 6 months.

New options and improvements over last years model.

I'm an old guy like CurryBob... so I too am enjoying the good life driving a new Ford... every 6 months.

I was not aware of that! Thanks for the heads up.

I get the chrome package so mine will have the 64L wheels from your chart. Will to look on line for a better photo of the wheels. I'm old school and like the chrome look.

I didn't go that far but did change my 4X4 decal. I'm a big bass fisherman so went this way. I know, a bit cheese

I love the Chrome package too. The more Chrome, the better.

I also learned something else about the PVD rims we currently have. It's a powder painted chrome finish, instead of the conventional chrome. It kinda explains why the chrome on our rims don't quite look right... they are not as smooth as conventional chrome.

That being said, I love the rim we currently have and have discussed it with my salesman to transfer the rims over to my 2018.

"PVD Chrome is a highly durable process that exceeds the life of conventional chrome plating. PVD Chrome plating is a 100% environmentally green process unlike traditional chrome plating. PVD wheels are 80% lighter than traditional chrome plated wheels, which leads to increased fuel economy."

My 15 cost me 57k with an MSRP of 63K. Got 45k trade in. Remember I only pay sales tax on trading difference which on the 2018 equipped the same will be just over 15k. New truck at invoice 62k less whatever discounts/rebates they have at time I receive truck. Usually 1200 to 2,000, so say 60k cost for the 2018.

I don't have to buy batteries, tires and never pay for any kind of repair.

I have been doing this all of my adult life, so I have traded more times than I can remember. I use to trade annually both of our vehicles (my wife's). Only have a few I kept 2 years and even less for 3 years. 3 Years is the better time to keep but I was young and working crazy overtime LOL.

BIKERDEANO
We are not that old!! LOL I retired at 56 and now 61. Old as you feel, today that is quite old LOL.

I love the PVD wheels
