Correct, Scrappy....

Stupidly, only the SE Lariats (and I think the Raptor) get the Black oem led heads. You used to be able to buy decontented black led housings for around 380.00 a piece! But, now all the oem led heads come Sealed, and Unserviceable, minus the Ballast/Controller opening.

So for better explanation, now when you order new oem led head housings. They come sealed with everything, except for the ballast/Controller, that attached via 2 connectors on the bottom of the led head housing....

Heres a pic of the bottom, without the Ballast/Controller...

Like night and day, lol! Puts a smile on my face when I press the unlock button and see the orange outline light up, especially at nighttime

Im hoping, I get lucky and dont have to Re-aim them, like I did my factory halogens. As the halogens, were way too high from the Factory.

I need a Go Fund Me account, for oem led tails, and katzkins leather now.... lol

Lol, black buckets wont be any brighter than your chrome/silver buckets...

If you do decide to Open them, and paint em (probably alot cheaper Option). Get the Diode Dynamics, led Switchbacks for the amber outline, and have them installed while the heads are opened up. Itll run yah 1k, just for the black oem led contented housings minumum...

It makes the outline White, then flashes Amber, when you turn on your blinker or hazards! Plus, theyre alot brighter, and cost 100.00 for the new led chips and wiring, to replace the oem amber leds. Theyre made here in St. Louis.

I wish I had the patience, to order and have them installed. But, I dont. Our trucks should come with White led outline, that flashes Amber for blinkers, if you ask me!

Nice...yep, I couldnt wait the install day for night! I didn't really need to go any where but went for a cruise around town just to see the lights in action

I already had LED's and the earlier version housings that had doors. I was able to just buy the de contented housings and switch everything over.

Most people probably would never notice but made a big difference to me.
