IOLM went long
The other day I glanced up at the sticker, it was set to 3K interval, so I know when it was changed even though I never change at 3K as it is a waste of money and resources, and discovered I was past the 10K mark and realized I never got a pop up to change oil. I brought up the oil reset screen and it showed I had 22% left! I finally got a chance to get it changed today, 10,743 miles and 20% left on the dash. I never expected it to go past 10K, always thought they were hard set by miles and apparently they are not. I average an oil change around every 4 months, and knew it was about that time, never expected it to go beyond 10k though.
Now I wonder what gets factored in to the IOLM, apparently it isn't miles driven.

It uses a super secret algorithm.

If you reset it the oil will last longer. I can get 20,000 between changes that way.

If you haven't changed your oil yet, get a test kit for your oil and send it in to see how well the oil life monitor is doing. I have another thread on here trying to confirm if the iolm is accurate. The only way you can do this is with an oil lab test.

Maybe they changed for 2018?
My manual says "This interval may be up to one year or 10000 miles. Never exceed one year or 10000 miles".
Any chance it was accidentally reset?

I considered the oil analysis, but couldn't get to my sample kit in the garage, had a busy schedule. I am curious at what the analysis would have shown though. 120 miles a day 5 days a week doing 60 MPH on cruise I guess extends oil life. LOL I will have 16K miles on it this week, exactly since months since I drove it home. We haven't planned it yet, but may be taking a long trip with the RV that will add at least another 2500-3000 miles, so I may hit 36K by the time it is a year old.

Nope, I know it wasn't since I'm the only one driving it. When I noticed it was past 10K, I was like why didn't it pop up two weeks ago! It's been changed and the truck is happy.
