You need a lot more info other than deductibles. What coverages and credit score as well as if you qualify for discounts and your driving history.
And yes, that 16yo son will up your premiums quite a bit.

Look at your paper work and it will break everything down line by line. You an then compare that coverages with the exact same dollar amounts of coverage with other companies.

Over here the government owns the insurance company and there are no competitors. Interestingly enough our insurance rates tend to be less than neighboring provinces, and when the insurance company runs a large surplus the government requires them to cut refund cheques for everyone that has insurance LOL.

I think I pay roughly what you do but in CAD.

My under-25 child is the single largest factor affecting my premiums. Some insurance companies will allow you to sign a waiver stating that your 16 year old will never drive your truck. This may greatly lower your premiums if they drive a beater. However, if they sneak out with your truck in the middle of the night and total it ... you're SOL.

There is just way too much that goes into auto insurance rates. A Ford F-150 forum is not the best place to gather insurance data that applies to your Ford F-150. Especially considering the effect of differing regulations in different states, and the way rates are set up based on zip codes and addresses. The only real thing to do is shop around to different insurance companies. You should be able to get several quotes that have the same or very similar deductibles and coverage. Be a little leery of small time "discount" companies, maybe. And companies that brag about covering you with a DUI record or that brag about not raising your rates for things often charge everyone more at the bottom end to make up for it.

Your premium is way too high. For my 15 Lariat with 250/500 limits and 500/500 deductibles, I'm paying $800/yr. This is in NJ, which supposedly has expensive auto insurance.

I'm sure I'm getting the lowest rate possible. Premiums can vary vastly from company to company for identical coverage. Discounts for multiple cars and combining homeowners and auto. Group affiliation discounts (mine was my alumni association). It really pays to shop around with many companies.

Then there are the things that cause your rate to get increased in order of importance:

Credit
DUI
At Fault Accidents
Tickets
Not At Fault Claims (don't make $800 claims with a $500 deductible)
High Annual Mileage

The F-150 is not in a special rate category. Turbos and the aluminum body don't matter.

Yeah, your 16 year old, even as a perfect driver, dramatically impacts your rates. Your insurance company can run with and without scenarios so you understand that better.

Useless to have people post insurance info since it is all non-comparable, as has just been shown.

Here is mine, $396/year for me and my wife for the F150, with 250/500 deductible and 250k/500k liability coverage. When we add our 17 yo next week, it will skyrocket to $1,200. that is with defensive driver, good student and distant student discounts!

yeah your 16yo is the reason for your super high rates! Damn Teenagers! I am starting to think that getting her a private chauffeur (Uber) for when she needs it might be cheaper!

They vary greatly. I do know my truck brought down my insurance from previous truck and even previous mid sized SUV. Not sure how all were new and traded within 2 years so still had "new car" policies.

the biggest reason this will be hard for you to gauge is:
Age
driving history
accident record
area Vehicle is parked
what vehicle is used for
discounts for multi-car/other policies like home.

no good way to gauge mine from yours or vice versa. Your best bet is to take said quote from your agent and call or email other places the quote. Tell them to beat it. Someone will unless you are directly causing the higher rate by something like 4 tickets or dui, accidents etc.

I see these kinds of insurance discussions on many forums (cars, motorcycles, etc) and there's more noise than facts in them. "Full coverage" means nothing. There's just too many variables about what that means for any given carrier. All manner of factors go in to rating your policy and you'll never know all of them.

So, with that said, I'm shocked at how much it cost to insure my '17 F150 Lariat. I have a recent model loaded BMW X5 that costs $600/year LESS to insure than my F150. All apples to apples on the same policy with every possible discount applied. My agent said it was all the expensive technology on new cars and that all the new car quotes have been coming back high lately. I said to him, "By new technology you mean things like lane assist, adaptive cruise, cross traffic alert, collision warning & braking preload, Blind side warnings.... that kind of stuff? Do you think I'm an idiot? That all makes it less likely I'll have a claim." His reply was that they don't tell the agents how they rate the vehicle.

So, is the conventional wisdom ere that these aluminum body trucks are expensive to repair after a dinger? What else could be causing that big of an increase over other vehicles?
