With Geico, it would be about $47/month more for a 6 month policy if I replaced my 2015 F150 with a 2015 Tacoma.

My insurance initially went up about $60/month going from minimal coverage on a 2006 Toyota Tacoma to full coverage on the F150 3.5EB, but I shaved another $48 off that switching to Traveler's via my credit union yesterday. So $12/month more than minimal coverage on a 9yr old Toyota? Seems like your agent fed you a line of BS, especially when an 4.0 V6 Tacoma would cost more than the F150 for me. (I also do not have a clean driving record, making things worse.)

FWIW, there was about a $500/6 month increase had I gotten a 2015 Nissan Titan instead of the F150 when I checked a few months ago.

That's the first time I heard that.
I would be shopping around after that quote.

Haha, I don't think a stock V-6 F-150 should ever be considered a high performance vehicle...

My insurance was virtually unchanged. I am now paying $1,093/year for both my wife and I (two vehicles, no one else in household with driver's license). Full comprehensive, collision and liability.

I don't understand why everyone is so scared of aluminum?

What's with that Chevy ad showing a Chevy and aluminum F150 getting pushed in on doors at same place then repaired. Ford showed a heap more cost to repair. I know, it's a Chevy ad I reckon, but the rascals do a good job at it. Sure seems the Ford cost more to repair.

Here it is:

Default Insurance

The difference between my '13 and my '15 is zero, but my insurance is going up regardless since I just moved into the city.

Silverado 1500 - $956.35
Tundra - $956.77

This is for a 4x4 Crew on all of the makes.

So much for aluminum being way more costly to insure!

Saw similar results with American Family when quoting a new F150.

Mine went down 170 bucks/year from a 14 Sierra double cab to a 15 supercab.
I even questioned my agent on the quote to make sure I read my email right lol

Mine went down $150. a year from my 08 F150. If I had bought a Ram it would have been about $100. more than my 08.. I both quoted before I purchased. I gave the ins. co vin # on both vehicles.
