Question Installing Level: Yourself vs. Shop

Ok, I decided to create a quick poll to see what most on here have done. In the past, I have had a shop install my levels but with labor rates so high, I am considering installing myself. What did you do and why?

I installed mine myself. It all depends on if you have the right tools to be able to do the job. If I had to buy the jacks, stands, impact tools, etc; I would have had a shop do the work for me.

It took me about an hour to do in my driveway. Pretty easy to do.

One tip I learned, was to take the inner top bolt off with the truck on the ground from inside the engine bay. So much easier than fighting with it from underneath.

It's cheaper to buy all the tools and do it yourself then have a shop do it (typically). Plus you get to keep all the tools!

Sorry to be kinda off topic but could I just undo bolts at the top of the strut and use spring compressors to get enough room to install the spacer on a 4x4? The whole iwe thing scares me

The way I understand it, as long as you don't start messing with removing CV axles you don't have any issues. But I could be way off.

I installed. But to be fair, my uncle has a car lift and all the tools to make it a very easy install. 15 min per side If you have the right stuff!

I had a reputable 4X4 shop do mine, I have the tools but not the time, I gotta work late to pay for all these mods! Besides if there is an "issue" they're under warranty also they were able to do the alignment all in one shot.

I'm not exactly sure about the install just thought if I got the top of the strut low enough I could rotate and in stall space but I as well could be wayyyyy off lmao

It's not just a drop and slide it in. With the spacer on the top it is a very tight squeeze, we usually use a large prybar to get enough space.
