Default The infamous roof seam

My local dealer has over twenty 2015 F-150's on his lot. The dealership was closed this morning and I took the opportunity to check them out. All trim levels...mostly crew cabs. Over half of them had wavy and or "lumpy" roof seams. I noted four that had seams that were totally unacceptable...huge lumps an/or debris in the seam. The trucks were from both the Kansas City and Dearborn plants. I think that I'll wait a while longer before making a purchase. I for sure would not take the chance on placing an order without the guaranty that if my ordered truck did not meet my expectations for quality I would not have to take it. (I'm 6'3" and I can easily see the front of the seam.)

Yea I found that first time I hand washed my truck, kind of annoying along with bed/cab alignment issue. If it weren't for the fact that this 2.7 EB motor were so awesome I'd be in a Chevy....

When I ordered mine there was no deposit or obligation or anything - I imagine if they had one I would have gone elsewhere.

It really doesn't bother me at all. I really don't notice it even when washing.

Noticed my 16 screw has the same issue. Took it to dealer and they are replacing.

Anybody elses seal sticking up and causing loud humming noise?

my seal is wavy and a bit curvy but plenty applied and doing the job.

I wouldn't obsess over a roof seam you normally don't see as long as it's properly applied...

I'm interested as to how they might achieve this. I would think it'd be very hard to do without replacing the cab...

This is about the only flaw I've found on my '16 Lariat. Doesn't bother me at all as no one can see it, I hardly see it, except when washing.

My roof seam seal is being replaced by ford. I was noticing water in my floor mat on the driver side. I could see water coming in above the hood release latch. Took it to the dealer. They said the windshield was leaking. They put a new windshield in it and low and behold still have a water leak. Took back to the dealer they have since removed and reinstalled the windshield twice and finally pin pointed the leak to a hole in the roof seam seal near the front. Not very happy at this time as they have now had my truck since last sunday and I am not expecting to have it back till monday. 2 weeks.

This is 1 thing I remembered about before buying my new 16. Luckily mine looks a perfect as can be, as did my 12s!
