Incentives - Locked in at order/delivery or either??
I'm about to order a F150 and different dealers are telling me different things on incentives.
One dealer says incentives are calculated at time of delivery. Another dealer says you can choose whichever incentive is better (time of order or time of delivery.)
The Ford build page suggests incentives are based on taking delivery from dealer stock. This implies you're taking the chance of not getting any incentives if the current ones expire.
Which is it?? TIA.

Delivery is most likely where it will happen. AFAIK the dealer can't apply an expired incentive at delivery. A day prior to my getting my truck there was an additional $1000 incentive I lost out on. man was I bummed.

The correct answer is that at time of order, a dealer can lock in the incentives that exist. Then, at time of delivery, you can choose which group (i.e. you can't pick and choose among incentives) is better. That does NOT include private cash which is good for the dates stated on the offer.
Your dealer has to take this step for you. If they don't, incentives are not locked in.

As far as I understand, you can get the best deal, either what is available when you order or when you take delivery.
I usually order my vehicles. I have always had the discounts/rebates/incentives on a contract when the order is submitted. Only once have I had a better deal when I took delivery and had to change the contract.
I’m in Canada, and an A-plan buyer. Those may make a difference.

Oh, thats right, forgot about that, has to be In Writing on the order, or it doesn't apply.

Thanks guys!!
I just spoke with my dealer and they will lock in the incentives at time of order and adjust upward if they go higher at the time of delivery. It seems like this method is not widely known.

Because most salespeople lack the intelligence and initiative to find out every way to get the sale.

Rick is right you are locked into the rebates available when you place the order. When I ordered there were $3k available in rebates and $1k in certificates until 1/3/18 because I ordered I lost the $1k in certificates. I should be taking delivery in the next week or so my truck is at the ramp waiting to be transported to the dealership. Right now I am eligible for $5050 in rebates as long as I take delivery before 4/2 so I made out ok
