Default I'm "shocked"

Literally I'm shocked how painfully bad the shocks are on these new generation trucks. This is my 7th F150 and thee highest trim level to date. That said the rear end dances around like a pogo stick. Come on Ford the price tag warrants a decent shock on these trucks. Can't wait to explain why shocks are being delivered for my new truck to the Mrs. Sorry end of rant. Love the truck minus this issue.

That's for sure. I had my 2012 1 week and replaced the shocks with Bilsteins. My son's 2016 is just terrible the way it skates when it hit a bump or a rut.10 times worse than my 2012 was new.

LOL...sounds like you opt for the FX4 package. That add on for sure results in a less quality ride.

When I got my 2015 F150 Lariat, I noticed right away the ride was nicer than the truck I test drove. I asked the salesman why was that. He brought it to my attention that the FX4 has a much stiffer suspension.

I do marvel at how so many opt for this package when most don't even need it.

Glad I don't have. I never go off road with it.

One more thing, don't think that a higher trim level means a better suspension. All trim levels have the same frame and suspension.

I dont see anything wrong with the FX4 package if you do end up in the mud or "sticky" situations 10-20times a year.

of course as you said "I never go off road with it". You are a person that would not need or utilize an FX4 package.

The shocks on the rear end of these trucks (2015+) is terrible both for the non-FX4 and FX4. Still need to pull the trigger to replace these will Bilsteins.

No FX4 here and I couldn't agree more with the OP. My '15 rides like crap compared to my '12.

This isn't a FX4 issue. It's well documented that these trucks have crap for shocks. Not just the dancing rear end but the excessive body roll. I've never had any vehicle that drove this poorly. 5100's are in my near future.

But love the truck otherwise and wouldn't have anything else...

...and as I stated, I see many who opt for this package don't need it. It results in a degraded ride.

For sticky situations, the electronic wheel lock does the same thing without a modified suspension. Suspensions never assist a truck getting out of "sticky" situations.
