some elevation change on the highway. you'd think the 2.55 would be much better on high way

i can't speak about the eco boost mileage though
I agree on fuel mileage with the 3.55 once the trucks are lifted any. It really takes a hit versus the 3.73 gear ratio. My 2011 5.0 with 3.73 gears did better with oversized tires than my 13 with 3.55 did stock. I hated the 13 with 3.55 gears

Have the '15 XLT screw with the 2.7. Have put 4k miles on it so far and average 18.5 mpg with mostly city driving. So pretty decent mpg and the 2.7 has plenty of pickup for me. If you don't need to do heavy towing the 2.7 has plenty of power and is only a touch slower then the 3.5 Eco but will save you some $$. Love the truck and have had no issues

I have a 2015 XLT Screw 4x4 with the 2.7 and 3.55 gears and my lifetime fuel average is 18.4 MPG through 7k miles. I would totally buy one again but I don't think I would get one of the higher trim models. The Lariat and above seem to be the ones with problems. I haven't done any towing yet but by all accounts the 2.7 will tow what 90% of folks will ever need to tow.

I have a 2016 XLT screw w/ FX4, 3.5EB with 3.55. Current overall average is 18.6 MPG. I love the truck. I drove a 2014 in 2015 hoping to get a closeout deal and just wasn't sold. I went early in 16 to get a 2015 and ended up with a 2016. I prefer the way the current generation drives over the 2014, just my opinion.

There are some issues that have popped up (as with any generation of any car/truck) but most are with the higher trim levels - leather, moonroof, etc. I haven't had any issues with mine really. Online forums will always be more frequented by those who are unhappy and want to be vocal about their issues. Many more people are just out enjoying their truck. If I could go back I would repeat the purchase, no regrets.

2016 XLT Screw 4x4 5.0 with 3.55's, leveled with 285 65 20's and only 2000 km's on truck (so still breaking in) and I'm averaging 17 mpg (13.8 liters per 100km)mixed city hwy. No complaints here. Better than my 05 with the 5.4 and this engine is still new.

I have a 2015 SCREW 4x4 platinum with the 5.0 and 3.31 gears. I have 13k miles now and am getting better gas mileage as I put more miles on it. City driving I get 15.8.

Still love the truck and believe it's WAY better than the 2013 5.0 SCREW 4x4 FX4 w 3.55 gears it replaced.

The 2015 does feel lighter but I really like that. Doesn't feel like your dragging a big steel ball around.

Good luck to you.

I have a 15 screw with the 5.0 ( see signature) and with 2700 miles on it I got 18.1 mpg driving locally on my last fill up. Never hit 18 mpg with my 13 scab with 5.0 and 3:55s. Both trucks are 4x4.
One note- the 15 screw curb wt is 765 lbs less than the 13 scab was. Both trucks also had 36 gal tank
