I'd like to get rid of the chrome on my truck in the near term, and I'm considering my options. A buddy of mine just received an Iron Cross bumper that was damaged during shipping, and they paid to Line-X it to fix the finish. It came out great. I was thinking I might have the remaining chrome parts Line-X color matched to Magnetic instead of painting them with the J7 factory color code. If I did that, I wouldn't be too concerned with color match, because the texture would set it apart anyway... but I'm wondering if anyone else has done it.
The parts I'd have coated are:

• Front bumper
• Mirror caps
• Door handles
• Rear Platinum billboard
• Aftermarket pocket fender flares

Is there any concern over Line-X'ing plastic parts? If I did the front bumper, would it be advisable to cost the plastic end caps separate from the steel? Is this a stupid idea?

I had line-x on plastic flairs and had no problem, also over chrome bumpers both on my 07.

I will say they messed up the bumpers when they did color match so they had to grind it off and I just had them go all black. Loved the Line-X and would do it again. Can't advise on color math part though!

I don't care for the textured look on bumpers and body parts, but if you like that look go for it.
I'm sure it would be more durable than PTM.
