If you could do it over again...options you wish you got and ones you could do withou

Things I had to have:
Power rear window. The truck can be 140F inside, and after 30 seconds with the rear window open it's completely cooled down.
Sync 3. Didn't care about nav, but definitely wanted the bigger screen.
4WD (Not 4A). I'm the driver. I'll tell the truck when I want 4 wheel power.
Things I didn't know I needed, but am very pleased to have:
Tailgate step. My knees aren't what they used to be, but this makes up for it.
BLIS. I don't rely on it, but I like having it. It just works.
Things I didn't want, didn't want to pay for, and am glad I don't have:
Pano/Moon roof. No leaks in my roof.
Pushbutton start. Couldn't care less about it.
Adaptive Cruise. Ditto.
Proximity unlock. Cool idea, but almost useless to me. My fob's right there in my pocket.
Leather. Feels good, but I don't want to maintain it, and if that changes, Katzkins are a better option.
Things I got but don't use:
Pro trailer backup assist. I like the technology, but I don't use it.
Things I kinda sorta wish I had, but I'm not torn up about not having:
eLocker. The open differential really sucks in 2WD, but I've never been close to stuck in 4WD.
Power fold mirrors. I'd use them if I had them. These trucks take up every bit of a standard 9' parking space width. Then again, I rarely park next to anybody else anyway.
Heated steering wheel. It does get cold here in winter. Gloves do work, though, and the truck warms up fast.

After thinking about this, I'm feeling pretty certain that there is some bias in all of this due to age, family status, and climate.
We older guys are more prone to like things like the tailgate step, while younger guys are hotter for the latest techie things. I don't haul people around, so the SCab is great for me. Somebody with a family would, I'm sure, find the SCrew a necessity. If I was further south, I'd guess I wouldn't have any interest in a heated steering wheel, and as it is I really don't find cooled seats nearly as interesting as I probably would if I was living in New Mexico.
It's still interesting to hear the points of view. How, I wonder, does Ford (or any automaker) ever make the right choices about what options to offer and how to go about offering them? It's no wonder we hear so many complaints about this kind of stuff...

Car & Driver F150 build
Without knowing about this article, that truck is about what I ended up with - only difference is that I have carpet, the 101A pkg, the chrome pkg, tailgate step (which I love) and side spotlights. It's a Race Red RCSB with the 5.0 and I love it.

I love my truck and all the options I have on it. The two I missed are the 36 gallon tank and bed side steps. The 502A Lariat pkg is great. I got the Tech pkg, Towing pkg, Twin Panel, etc. (see my signature below). Ordering my new one today and this time I am getting both the items missed last time along with Camel interior instead of Black. Old one is off lease in 6 months and only has 15,525 miles as of today, (took a job at my company and have been working from home last 18 months so only use my truck in evening and on weekends.

Traded my 16 in because I should have got everything in the 302a. Have it in my 18, just wish I had folding mirrors.

Tailgate step. Had it in my '13 and loved it. Almost never used the stripper pole part, and it was in the way when I was dollying heavy stuff over it, but the redesign solved that problem. My '18 has everything BUT that, and I'm pretty sure I'd have to replace the whole tailgate to get it. Anybody know if a '15-'17 tailgate will fit an '18?

I could live without: pano moonroof, adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, auto highbeams, nav, console shifter but keep console and add cup holders or storage instead. I have a limited so cant wish for anything, it has it all; but one thing i didnt think id ever really use, massage seats, my back gets stiff/sore, turn them on and it feels good.

+1 here, i totally agree. I love my moonroof and rear slider open. I totally understand if you have issues with the moonroof, but it makes me laugh how many people on here are like furious they have a sweet huge moonroof. My kids love it at night, driving through the mountains, etc. Do y'all get pissed when you see a rainbow too?

Just got back form a 4200 mile trip out to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in my '18 145" Screw. XLT w/302A.
Great travelling vehicle and overall trip went well.
Items I loved:
36 gallon tank. 7 fill-ups total on the trip. Makes it really nice for road tripping.
Tailgate step - just simple and convenient.
I also like the sync connect for the times that I say "did I remember to lock the truck"?
Keypad for the times someone in the family needs to get in to get something out.
Tailgate damper (added myself). Kids could open the tailgate without having it fall on them.
Could do without:
Factory Nav. Waze works quite well when we have cell service
Would like to have:
Arm rest / cup holding in rear seat (like Lariat+ trims)
ACC might be nice..if I could trust it.
Overall our 'car' with a big trunk is a great road trip vehicle. Have a bedrug + revolver X4 that kept everything dry and safe.
