I love my keyed ignition, but I agree. Keyless should be standard across the board, even in XL's. So should 4A. I can see Ford not only touting the more premium aspects of 4A for it's entire trim lineup, but bragging on the increased safety 4A provides. You could make the same argument for adaptive cruise. The funny thing is, someday all these things (and more) will be standard in even XL trucks. Due to competition, all car manufacturers have to keep raising the bar or at least meet the bar. It wasn't too long ago that things like power steering, power brakes or even a radio were options. A/C wasn't even an option you could order in lot of cases, now it's on every vehicle.

Someday we WILL see XL trucks with keyless start, 4A, LED headlights, BLIS, adaptive cruise, 360 deg cameras, etc. It's just a matter of how many years down the road.

How can you mention keeping up with the times and Toyota in the same sentence lol FYI a 2017 Tundra platinum was only available with halogen head lights, regular key with separate fob for buttons, no factory remote start, same dinosaur motor from the first tundra and not a whole lot else. The new and improved game changer 2020 tundra is now available with some type of smart key system, push button start and an 8" productivity screen(which have been available from ford since 2015) and i can guarantee NOTHING new that hasnt already been offered by the big 3.
I truly dont care about brand either, last truck was a ram and i was down to a platinum tundra or the lariat for a new truck. Im in an F150 because dollar for dollar it blew the tundra out of the water.
Simple fact is Dodge and GM are behind the Ford in sales so you bet your *** theyre going to have to give more. And how do you compare a truck that came out 4 years ago to one that was revamped this year?!?!?!?!?! Obviously the interior styling is going to be nicer in a newer truck

And as others have said if you put all the Lariat features on the option list for a XLT wouldn't the XLT then just be a Lariat?

I think Ford should make more features standard across the board (XL on up) like a soft opening tailgate or map lights. Simple things like that.
