If Ford is listening - requests from consumers on new packages?!?!

You paid $36.9K on an $51K MSRP 302a? That was a good deal.
I love my keyed ignition, but I agree. Keyless should be standard across the board, even in XL's. So should 4A. I can see Ford not only touting the more premium aspects of 4A for it's entire trim lineup, but bragging on the increased safety 4A provides. You could make the same argument for adaptive cruise. The funny thing is, someday all these things (and more) will be standard in even XL trucks. Due to competition, all car manufacturers have to keep raising the bar or at least meet the bar. It wasn't too long ago that things like power steering, power brakes or even a radio were options. A/C wasn't even an option you could order in lot of cases, now it's on every vehicle.
Someday we WILL see XL trucks with keyless start, 4A, LED headlights, BLIS, adaptive cruise, 360 deg cameras, etc. It's just a matter of how many years down the road.

And when they do I wonder what they will have to do, to make people want to buy the top of the line vehicles? I agree with you, but it's a vicious cycle. Can't make the XLT match the Limited (even with options) even if it comes out the same price. Ford has two camps to please.

You do know Fords a truck manufacturer whos main goal is to sell trucks right? They're the best selling truck in NA so im not really sure how else you can translate success
How can you mention keeping up with the times and Toyota in the same sentence lol FYI a 2017 Tundra platinum was only available with halogen head lights, regular key with separate fob for buttons, no factory remote start, same dinosaur motor from the first tundra and not a whole lot else. The new and improved game changer 2020 tundra is now available with some type of smart key system, push button start and an 8" productivity screen(which have been available from ford since 2015) and i can guarantee NOTHING new that hasnt already been offered by the big 3.
I truly dont care about brand either, last truck was a ram and i was down to a platinum tundra or the lariat for a new truck. Im in an F150 because dollar for dollar it blew the tundra out of the water.
Simple fact is Dodge and GM are behind the Ford in sales so you bet your *** theyre going to have to give more. And how do you compare a truck that came out 4 years ago to one that was revamped this year?!?!?!?!?! Obviously the interior styling is going to be nicer in a newer truck

Guess you missed the 2 years when Im looking....Toyota will have their new...or remodeled truck by then....indeed currently they are behind.
A lot of people thought the previous Dodge interior was nicer than the current F150....again I guess you missed the point in 2 years when Im looking I would hope Ford has done something.

I will say this, both Chevy and Ram have jumped ahead of Ford in terms of options and packaging. You can get LED headlights, running lights and taillights on a 2019 LT Chevy/Big Horn Ram, no excuse why Ford can't put them on an XLT. You can get push-button start and intelligent access on an LT Chevy/Big Horn Ram now, again, no excuse Ford can't add this to the XLT. You can get factory leather on an LT Chevy/Big Horn Ram, no excuse Ford can't do this on an XLT.
The thing is, Ford is still the number one selling truck, by a good margin, so they really have no reason to do anything unless they start seeing their sales head over to GM or Ram. You have to vote with your wallet.

And as others have said if you put all the Lariat features on the option list for a XLT wouldn't the XLT then just be a Lariat?
I think Ford should make more features standard across the board (XL on up) like a soft opening tailgate or map lights. Simple things like that.

I thought the LTZ was Chevy’s equivalent of the Lariat? Regardless I’m in agreement with many others that Ford should at a bare minimum make the 4A an option on all trims. Hell my 2005 Silverado had it. When I bought my 2015 Lariat, I was surprised to learn that the lower trims didn’t have it. It is so nice compared to just 4WD, which I rarely ever use.

In Chevy world the LT trim is equivalent to the Lariat trim in a Ford. The XLT would be a custom (formerly LS) in a Chevrolet.

So you want an XLT as a base, but then add options ala carte to bring it to darn near a Lariat trim level from the factory? Why not just buy a Lariat? If these options were available from Ford, the price point would put you close to a Lariat by the time you add them all up, IMO.

I think 4A should be standard on all trims. Ford will still sell the higher end trims because people will still want the features that come on the higher end trims.
I view 4A as a safety feature. I will say that I drove a 2wd truck in PA winters.
