BAK Revolver X2. It looks awesome. Mine is really a hard rolling cover and flush to bed. It will not blind you when you carry big stuffs and use 100% of the space of your bed. Also it works with the remote taigate release. Can close the cover when the tailgate is already in place. The bed is all dry except near the tailgate but very minimal moisture. Great product.

I have done may shorter trips and have no issues with contact with the cab.
Do they have to actually touch the cab though? I see how much bed to cab movement ocurrs when driving and based on my needs, it just seems like it could really end up scratching clearcoat over time, especially if paint or bumpers will have road grime on them?

How's peregon handle a coat of ice / snow when needing to fold. The accordion style fold seems like it could want to scratch or take up a lot more space
Any thoughts on it?

I know on my G2 it has to rest in the cab, if put up right the struts will hold it but it will still move forward. There is the possibility I suppose, the bumpers are on the underside when stowed so not much grime on them but as you mentioned grime on cab could hurt.

Luckily I have not had an issue with mine and I have the sterling grey where you would see scratches easily.

As to the peragon, I do not have one but have followed their threads closely. They are out of Minnesota and claim no issues with snow and ice if you sweep it off. In my opinion, looking at the design and how it folds I still see an issue with it and the other thing was that if you have cargo and it slides up front you can't close the cover until you climb in and get it out of the way of the tracks,

Thinking about it, you could do a same side opposing force deal. Put cover upright and held with struts then run a strap back into bed to hold it firmly against the struts. No touching the cab and it should hold tight.

http://www.foldacover.com/products/t...-fold-a-cover/

Admittedly, this cover is a bit more expensive than some of the other options and it has a bit of a unique way to allow 'true' access to 100% of the bed however after reviewing the original post:

No drain tubes

Does this cover exist????
The Fold a Cover G4 Elite does exist and can accommodate these requirements. Additionally, the locking panel closest to the cab opens backwards and works with the Personal Caddy they sell in a pretty sweet way. If it's for a work truck or something that regularly needs 'true' access to 100% of the box in its entirety it may not be the best option. The cover can be completely removed after removing 2 bolts on each side and re installation is just as easy due to the rails being left on for alignment. But there are other covers out there that offer easier access to the complete bed. I happen to prefer access to the rear 75% while also having access to the front 25% at the same time and having them be separate, and independently locking, compartments when used with their Personal Caddy. FWIW from the rear 75% you can slide about 6" (in height) of stuff all the way up to the front of the box under the Personal Caddy.

Food for thought and good luck with your choice.

Edit: While the tailgate opens fine with even with the remote when the cover is closed and locked it is still suggested that the cover be open before closing the tailgate. Like mentioned before, any cover that "sits on top" of the tailgate will let you close the tailgate while it is fully closed, but it will not seal properly and will most likely damage the rear seal over time.

bought the bakflip G2... went with it because one, didn't want a soft cover - wanted something with a little protection from theft... two, didn't really care to spend 1500-2000 on a roll up cover (if money weren't involved probably would buy the retrax... just couldn't pull the trigger on spending that much on a bed cover)... happy with it so far... very tight, very little water gets in (only on the back corners in heavy rain.... Looks good etc... paid 900 installed with tax... (only other thing i didn't like on the retrax is heard there is some rattle with all the ball bearing parts it rolls on along with the container eats up some of the cargo bed.. The G2 you can access all the bed below the bed line and 90% of it folded up above the bed line...

I really appreciate all of the information that everyone has provided in this thread, I think that I have made the decision to go with the Peragon. I have the Extang solid fold on my 2012 Ram 1500 and it's been good but I think that I want to try something different when my new F-150 gets here. I also think that the remote release will work better with the Peragon than with the Extang.
The color match on the Peragon helped to seal the deal, my new truck will be the white platinum metallic Tricoat and I think the matching tonneau cover will look outstanding!

There are so many covers to choose from and the videos from the manufacturer don't always show ask of the pros and cons, that's what makes the reviews from all you guys so helpful....it's a lot of cash to spend and I wanted to make sure I was making the best choice for what I was looking for.

I like my Peragon. Does what I need. Does have its drawbacks as do all covers. It isn't the most watertight and I did have to add a couple pieces of weather stripping in the from corners to help with water coming in there. As for stuff sliding to the front of the bed and preventing it from opening I bought a ratcheting load bar from harbor freight to put across the bed to keep things from sliding up. I also have a large rubber maid container that I keep back there for things I want to stay dry. Drilling holes sucked but it is what it is and it'll never rust because it's aluminum and you can't see the holes unless the cover is removed.

I got it because the price was right, it was really secure, and it let the tailgate open without opening the cover. It removes in about 2 minutes to allow for full bed use too, and if you want body color it comes in whatever color your truck is.

the color one's look weird don't they with the black plastic trim all over the bed? If that was matched too to me would look good - i would just do black over the colored/matched... the color stands out with the black trim all around? Or does it cover that up too?
