I want the F150 but...

OP, this is simple trim level separation that every manufacturer does. It’s very common to have to step up to the next trim level to get certain features, amd everyone does it. You have to look at what’s included besides the few options you mentioned. How do you value an out dated and aged hemi V8 compared to the Coyote and both EB’s?
As for price, are you referring to sticker or what you will pay for it? There are significant discounts on all the F150 trims. It’s pretty standard to get $8k - $12k off the sticker depending on dealer, location and incentives. I don’t know Rams at all but I’d be absolutely shocked if it was cheaper than what you can get a 302a XLT for...that’s Ford bread and butter and they sell the snot out of them for a reason.
And safety is huge for me. My 2017 was totaled last year because of a psycho, and my daughter and I walked away unharmed because of all the airbags and the way the cab stayed intact....I bought a 2018, didn’t consider anything else.

I’ve owned two Rams and one GMC over the years. They were fine but they drove like trucks. Now I have a 2016 XLT. With the aluminum body and 2.7L V6 it drives almost like a car. It’s a completely different driving experience. I haven’t driven a new Ram but it doesn’t have any significant upgrades that I would expect any significant change to its driving characteristics. I like the interior better in my truck than the Ram.
