Looking at Rams also but only because of after owning 2 F150's that have had the doors recall's done only to re fail and you always have that winter question in mind. (16 now 18). Next new truck in 2020 definitely will not be a FORD period. Left Ford 1rst time because of the 5.4 engine fiasco, left GM in 16 because of the engine fiasco (07,13). Ram has it's issues too but now trolling the Ram site and Wrangler site ahead of the introduction of the new Jeep Gladiator.

I travel and rent cars for over 200 days a year. After renting, some cars get added to my "might buy" list and some are put on my "never ever buy" list. Any Dodge is on my never buy list and most especially the Ram trucks. I'm well over 50% of the Dodge cars rented having an issue that would take me to the service department, and a Ram that was returned to the rental company next day because it was horrible. Nissan will be on my buy list if they can ever work out the infotainment system. Cadillac has always been a great ride. Like the Chevy trucks, but their cars are pretty bad and make my 150 feel like one of the Cadillacs. Two cars so good I took the MRS to test ride one are the ATSV and Q60 Red. Would like the Toyota but I have found them to be too twitchy and abrupt.
As others have said, XLT is just off of bottom rung. Of course it will have fewer features. My Lariat is only mid level trim.

i think a lot of XLT owners forget there are 7 F-150 models and they are second to the last model. I mean honestly if they were to put all those features in the second to last model how on earth could they up sell a $30k truck for $70k .. its crazy to think this truck more than double in price from the "bright and shiny" objects that people are willing to pay for
Regardless, you shouldn't have to buy a Lariat to get push button start and projector headlights. Pretty much every $18k econo car on the market comes with those 2 features. You can reserve the LED headlights for the Lariat, but #@$% me reflector halogen headlamps on a 50K vehicle is a joke. Pink slips right now that Ford wises up for the next generation F150 set to release in 2020 and ditches those ****ty headlights in the XLT. Modern headlights will at minimum be an option. It's beyond an aesthetic issue, its a safety issue.

Let's be honest here, there are really 3 models of F150 (4 if you count the Raptor). XL, XLT and Lariat. Platinum, King Ranch, etc are nothing more than Lariats on steroids.

I most certainly care about the safety ratings and, along with other things, it was a factor in my purchase. Look at the IIHS safety ratings of 2016 full-size pickups, you'll quickly see why Dodge wasn't on my list.
