I dont necessarily want leather, but I do want those things.
I dont want all the other electronic crap,,,,,im good with a manual tailgate.
If Dodge can do it....why cant Ford

Especially since some of their other models have a 'cold weather package' that includes heated steering wheel as an optional package on lower models.

Remember, there's cheaper and there's less expensive. The RAM is, without a doubt, cheaper.

My dad has a 2015 RAM 1500 and I have a 2016 F150, he seems to love my truck more than his. His main reasoning is the smoother ride and the MPG I get 😂

That would be nice. I came from a Cadillac with all of that and don't really miss it.

The short answer is because they can. And quite frankly, all that stuff you think should be standard on an XLT is junk I don't want on my XLT. Different strokes for different buyers. And if that stuff is important to you, it is offered, just with a whole bunch of other stuff too when you step up to the lariat.

And Ford charges what they can becuase people are paying it. The fact it is a few thousand more than a Ram, and they still sell like they do says they must be doing something right!

i think a lot of XLT owners forget there are 7 F-150 models and they are second to the last model. I mean honestly if they were to put all those features in the second to last model how on earth could they up sell a $30k truck for $70k .. its crazy to think this truck more than double in price from the "bright and shiny" objects that people are willing to pay for

I dont know one single owner of a half ton who cares about safety ratings.....or put differently they have never bought a truck for its better rating.
Style,performance.....the better deal

Hi my name is Ryan, safety was part of the consideration when purchasing my vehicle.

Now you have now met one (well virtually met).

X2. I dont care what the vehicle is im buying, it needs to be safe. I hope that i never need to test the airbags, seat belts and crumple zones but i want to make sure they will keep me safe if i do need them
