I screwed up
So I had my F-150 for 25+K miles and LOVED IT, but there where a few things that really annoyed me. One was the mammoth size, the other was the lack of tech features like Onstar (smart phone app) and Apple Car Play. I traded my F-150 for a Chevy Colorado Crew in hopes of fixing all of these issues. While the truck has the tech features I missed in the Ford, the build quality from GM is horrible. The truck has 7000 miles on it and has had 5 recalls on it in addition to suspension issues. On top of that I get less than 19 MPG combined and if I am towing it is often a struggle to break 12. I got 20+ daily and 17 ish while towing with my F-150.
I am hoping Ford includes me in a private offer mailing soon so I can dump this Chevy and get back into a F-150. The 17's are supposed to have the smartphone app and Car Play. I can't wait to dump this Chevy.

Interesting. I went from a 15 Silverado to a 16 F150 for a few reasons... To get rid of the Chevy Shake, and have Bluetooth that works with streaming music services. There's never been a moment of regret of switching rides. What made it even sweeter was an extra $1k private offer from Ford.
Chevy has the advantage with the OnStar app and the built in steps in the bumper over Ford. Those are small advantages. If rather have my F150 than my old Chevy truck any day, any year.

Just a suggestion - you may want to do a lot more research before you take big hits getting rid of $40 - $60K things. 3 in how many years? Yikes!

I agree about the bumper step. I used the one in my 14 chevy all the time and when I got my f150, the truck I wanted didn't have the tailgate step. There isn't even enough room to step on the bumper with the tailgate down. I really wish I had gotten the tailgate step.

F150 SuperCrew 4x4 = W79.9"/L231.9"/H77.2"/GC9.4"
RAM 1500 CrewCab 4x4 = W79.4"/L229.0"/H76.9"/GC??"
Silverado 1500 CrewCab 4x4 = W80.0"/L230.3"/H73.97"/GC8.9"
Toyota Tundra CrewMax 4x4 = W79.9"/L228"/H76.0"/GC??"
GC is ground clearance, which I couldn't find on all of them. I am also not counting the width/length of the mirrors either. I highlighted the dimensions that these trucks are largest, and the F150 is the biggest one in most cases. It's a behemoth, yes, but not much more so than any other full sized 1/2 ton truck. I'd also agree that Ford's infotainment system kind of sucks. While I think the feature set and interface are ok, it's painfully slow and unresponsive. My friend's brand new Tahoe is much better in that regard. The interface isn't necessarily better, and I don't like how it won't actually render an image of what the exit should look like, but it's a fast system. It feels almost as responsive as a modern phone running Google Maps rather than some i386SX 33MHz PC with 2MB of RAM running Google Maps.
