I need more light from my (2017 XLT) low beams, what are my options?

I've been running the 9005's in my fogs for a year now. No problems with melting or cracking of the lens. Great mod changing out all of the bulbs for the higher wattage ones.

I have been running LED drop in's. I did an H11 CrystaLux set up. The output is AMAZING. I did have to adjust the beams down a tad.
While taking the headlights out to do the upgrade, it seems excessively complicated to do for a simple bulb swap. Since it was out, I also did the 9005 Hi beams and Fogs all at the same time. After adjustments of beam pattens, this is how Ford should of built these. The cut off is somewhat sharp and a massive upgrade over OEM. Probably the best mod I did.

Mine are Sylvania 65w 9005's so I wouldn't worry about the heat. I was leery at first to try it but I'm glad I did!

I really wish people would stop putting LED bulbs into halogen housings...
Try a Bulb upgrade like something that is DOT approved.

I too am curious. We know the two have slightly different clocking positions of the tabs for the twist and lock. And of course internally for the power plug in the 9007 has a single slot/grove while the 9005 has two. So one would have to make sure the 9007 had the internal grove ground down and the clocking position was still OK for the wiring.

I’ve read most people buy the Philips h9 bulbs. Do you suggest the standard versions (as shown in a pic earlier in this post) or the higher output version (30-100% more light)? I bought the higher output sylvania bulbs for previous vehicles and they would always burn out within a few months so I gave up on them. Is the same true for Philips? It sounds like the bulbs are not easy to replace and I expect my bulbs to last for years and not months.
