Default I need more light from my (2017 XLT) low beams, what are my options?

I live upstate N.Y., it's dark, real dark, deer everywhere, no roadway lights in must places. These low beams stink, even on the highway. What are my options to increase light output coming out of the front lenses?

Look up anzo headlights. Throw some led bulbs in there. You’ll thank me later. Or just replace the bulbs with leds, much cheaper than purchasing anzo housings. But there will be glare for oncoming drivers.

I upgraded all the front bulbs on my 16 to better bulbs with a higher lumen output, and put my old high beam bulbs in the fogs.

I had to trim a couple tabs on the new bulbs to fit into my housings.
But no modifications to the stock housing, can go back to stock.

i noticed a great improvement in visibility!

i second this, i put in h9 bulbs instead of h11 bulbs for my lows as well. Huge improvement to them.
(Have a light bar for highs so didn’t bother switching those)

I did part of the "easy headlight mod"...just having a set 9005's in the fog lights really makes a difference and is pretty cheap and easy.... just swapping bulbs no trimming required. I just always have my fogs on with the lows

Here's the details of the mod's others are describing. The best $50 & couple hours you'll ever spend. IMO, these mod'ed halogens outperform the OEM LED's for lighting performance. Granted, you don't get the "cool" LED white light, but the spread & reach is amazing. Going on 3 years with mine fixed up, no issues, never get flashed.

I just installed the Spyder auto headlights and with the projectors it's a little bit better as far as light output... going to still switch the regular bulbs out for led pretty soon here

I wouldn't put 9005 in the fogs.....have you guys seen where the lenses care cracking from the inside from just 9145 bulbs???

Will this mod work with the 2018 XLT?

Personally, I'd avoid the cheesy aftermarket housings and "retrofit" mutilations if you plan to keep your truck a long time. They're junk. They will leak and fog up. I promise. Just upgrade your bulbs to the h9 or LED or HID.
