No issues with the engine at all. It's smooth and it pulls hard. And I do love engine. But man oh man the 5.0 is something else. It is just soooooo smooth. And I wish I had looked harder for it.
I ended up getting what I got because it was on the lot and it had everything I wanted. Except the V8.

Coming from a 2014 F150 with the coyote, the only thing I miss is the exhaust note. I am getting better gas mileage with my 2.7 on 35s with a lift than my leveled 2014.
The 2.7 feels like it pulls instantly as the boost comes in. I really had to rev the coyote up to get moving.

I say enjoy what you have...the 2.7 seems to be a decent engine and you can tune it fairly easily to get more power. If it really bothers you that much take the hit and trade it in for the V8.
Ecoboost vs v8 comparison threads tend to turn into a sh!tstorm pretty quick....

I think the 2.7 is plenty smooth and smoother than the 3.5 eco (not sure how 17 eco is). if its not smooth it may have a defect. if you just want the small v8, well the only cure is to get one...

The 2.7 was an easy choice for me after driving them back to back.
A year plus later I no longer remember how much softer the V8 drove but I'm reminded every time that I start the truck how much worse the V6 sounds.

It's funny though because my truck is rated to tow 10,100 lbs. That can never happen because I would exceed my payload way before I hit that number, especially with tongue weight on that heavy of a trailer. Realistically I can safely pull around 8k with the family and a light amount of weight in the truck. So if I got a 2.7 with a payload package I would essentially be able to tow the same amount but get the better mileage. Just something to think about.
