I wonder if the expansion and contraction of the plastic g as tank plays a part too. When the level is lower does the gas tank itself slam around in the brackets.
Not that I know of, the 2nd time it was in the shop and they discovered it’s coming from the fuel tank area, the mechanic did tell me he went over everything to make sure nothing was loose. And the last time it was in he replaced the fuel tank so I would figure for sure he would put everything back to spec.
I’m really Leaning torwards the evap system. With the fuel tank pressure sensor losing signal when it happens on the ford IDS system. I read up on exactly what the evap system does sense previously I only knew vaguely that it controlled the gas vapors in the tank. I didn’t realize that if it’s not working properly it will affect fuel economy, and since my 5.0 is getting only 13.3mpg over the 14K mile life of the truck, I’m thinking they need to really look in that direction. I haven’t touched my “trip 1” since I bought the truck. And the best mpg I’ve ever seen in this truck on the highway was 16 mpg.

I was average 15.4 for the life of the truck on ethanol blend gas. I tried e85 for two tanks and that sucked my average down to 15.2. 90 percent of my 8k miles are all in town.

If I did just a highway trip I might avg what your getting if I’m lucky, and CT doesn’t sell e85. They probably can’t tax it or something.
I've been having a rumble lately when coming to a stop. It feels like the truck it's about to stall but doesn't. It's been doing it for a few weeks now, coincidence when I switched to premium fuel which I won't be doing any longer.
What's strange is if I come to a stop slowly, it doesn't seem to happen.
My average is 15 mpg with 90% city driving.. Never had it on the highway without the car trailer and that was 9-10 mpg towing an enclosed 9000 lb car trailer

filled it up this morning and did feel a VERY slight movement when stopped hard.. Not a bad 'bump' though. Weird.
I feel it the most when my gauge is sitting just above 3/4. I have to stop completely and wait 3 seconds before I know if it’s going to do it or not. If I stop quickly and proceed at like say a stop sign no one else is at, then I will not feel it at all.
