Just how do you get these trucks to do a nice little burnout, safely, without damaging anything? With all the computers, traction control, and stuff, I swear the truck fights me every time I (gently) try to get the rear end to kick out a little bit in a turn.
From a stop, press the brake 1/3 of the way down with your left foot then hit the throttle with your right. The rear tires will break loose and as soon as they do go full on throttle and full on brake. As soon as you've had enough fun let both off. If you don't the truck will stall (it's never happened to me). It's way easier without having to deal with the clutch as well.

A proper brake torque won't harm anything but your tires.

How about the traction control? Should that be on or off?

I've never touched it. I would think it'll only liven it up even more. There's various levels depending on how many times and how long you push the button for. Haha, I'm giving burnout tips.

Mitchell Selig Ford in Bloomfield. They have been very accommodating so far.

Since it was a 5.0L (and a loaner) and I only had the 3.5L I took the opportunity on multiple occasions to roast the tires over the course of the week I had it. By the time I returned it there was no bump / shudder at the stop lights anymore.

I think it was a glaze on the TC that I finally wore off (or finally mated / seated itself) that caused the issue. Bottom line = drive the hell out of it for a bit and see f it helps.
The truck still does it if you put it in Neutral and come to a stop, that would rule out the torque converter. I’m also not very easy on my truck. I hit the speed limiter 5 minutes after I left the dealership on day one. I’m 6 months in with 14K miles, this truck is far from babied.

following with interest as my 2016 5.0 4x4 w/locking diff has the exact same problem. the only other thing that I've thought about is how the hill start assist works and if is related...I haven't found any way to turn it off to test.

Late to this thread but my 1.5 month old 2015 with just about 6500 original miles on it does the exact same thing,. Feels like I was bumped from behind a second after a complete stop. Does not do it every time and its sometimes worse and sometimes does not do it all all. I always refill the gas tank at half tank so i cannot say for sure whether it happens when the tank is low.

In regards to the Hill Assist, I thought the same thing. I was told that Hill Assist is a feature that uses the ABS system. So what I did was removed the ABS fuse which makes a lot of lights go off, but it has always been a mechanics way of diagnosing the vehicle without ABS. So I drove it around, yet I still felt it without the fuse. I’m not 100% on the Hill Assist being part of the ABS though, we only came to that conclusion because toggling for The Hill Assist feature has been found in the ABS module in FORScan.
