I am really loving this truck!

I bought my truck in mid-November of last year, and rotated driving it with my ‘08 Hemi-powered Dodge Ram. I purchased a lifetime LOF package for 4 changes per year, and had the finance guy write on it “Full Synthetic” and initial it...I only have about 4200 miles on it but have already changed the oil twice...it’s a use it or lose it deal. My youngest is now driving the Ram and prior to yesterday, the longest trip had been about 75 miles round trip.

The smoothness and the quietness of the ride really stand out. My youngest asked me why it was so much nicer than the Ram and I had to explain that not only was it 10 years & 150,000 miles newer, her Godfather & I had driven the heck out of the Ram, hunting & off-roading and never being gentle with it.

Yesterday my wife & I made about a 420 mile round trip, in the rain most of the day, and it couldn’t have handled better. Put it in 4A, and put the tranny in the Snow/Wet mode while we were in the mountains, and have never felt more confident in those conditions, with an empty bed. On the flatter stretches, I turned the EcoSelect mode on and honestly couldn’t detect any difference; I use the Eco mode very often in town. Overall, the LOM said I was getting 20.4 mpg and my hand calculation was 19.4; this was a combination of 80 mph on the Interstate, 65 on the highway, and 25-55 through various stretches. In my Ram, I am EXTREMELY lucky to get 14, going downhill, with a strong tailwind! The BAK Revolver X4 tonneau, that I bought from Forum Vendor Truck Brigade, kept the bed mostly dry (I wasn’t after 100% dryness-I was after security).

In Normal mode, it’s hard to beat me...in Sport mode...only if I letcha! I still haven’t figured out all of the bells & whistles yet, but this truck is absolutely fantastic!

One of the most amazing things to me is that about a month ago, I was reading an article online about Ford’s continuous #1 ranking for 42 years, and in the article the guy from Ford stated that customers have long memories and a lot of people remember that back in the financial mess of 2008, Ford was the only US automaker that did not take government bailout money...I have known in my heart, since 2008, that the next vehicle(s) I purchased would be Fords, and my wife could not be happier with her 2017 Explorer Limited, even though she grew up in a very non-Ford family.

I hope I’m not jinxing anything, but after perusing the forum, I get the feeling that the 2018 is, quite possibly, THE 3.5 EB F-150 to have-just seems from reading here that the vast majority of the bugs had been worked out by the time they came along.

It's so awesome to see stories like this. Makes you realize how nice these trucks really have become.

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to have a feel good thread. Sadly it won't create near the buzz if you were complaining about something.

I knew I wasn't the only one who has a truck that does indeed work as we hoped it would.

A rarity for sure. Not that you are happy with your truck...hell, I love mine, but a thread started solely for saying so.

Enjoyed reading your positive review of your truck!

I concur with your evaluation. Mine's a peach!

+1 on the comments. Coming from 3 GMCs and the last a diesel, my F150 Plat 3.5 is a great comfortable ride. It is heads and tails above my others. The more I drive it, the more I appreciate its’ safety, comfort, power, and capability. Sometimes I wonder if it is really a truck because my others were so much rougher and noisier.

9800 miles and smiling.

I also love my new truck. However, I have to say that I test drove the Tundra, Titan, GM twins, and '19 Ram prior to purchasing our new Platinum and all are pretty darn nice. Well, the Tundra and Titan aren't so great, but the others were. The Ram was, by far, the nicest and road phenomenal with the air suspension. Just couldn't bring myself to buy an FCA vehicle. What I'm trying to say is ALL new trucks are pretty darn good!

Awesome.
i love my truck too.
even with all the negative post that makes you think these trucks are as fragile as glass, at the end of the day, Most of the “issues” are 1st world problems when put into perspective.
drive on! These trucks are beasts.

I have no doubt that ALL of the new trucks are pretty darn good, but I didn't even bother test driving mine. I knew what I wanted, and if I would have had my druthers, the only 2 things I would have changed are the color (mine is Magnetic & I would have preferred the Lightning Blue), and I would not have chosen the panoramic sunroof; obviously, neither one was a deal breaker for me, and to be 100% totally honest, the automatic retractable running boards wereTHE deciding factor. There was a Silver one I was just about to tell my friend/salesman 'let's go talk about that one', when I happened to notice the retractable running boards that he'd missed (I don't expect a salesman to know every specific detail of every truck on the lot).

Thanks for all of positive replies.

I love my 3.5EB. Not too many folks post positive comments. I think folks who have issues, go to a forum and complain about it. Sure they're problems, but with nearly a million F150's sold a year, the percentage is probably pretty low.
