Have you ever bought something that didn't work the way you thought it should? There seems to be more product out there that are just that way and leaves it to the buyer to figure out how it works. That the reason I like to have a better understanding about what I'm buying. I don't like surprises. At least not that kind.

I'm not sure your wife would appreciate that comment.

Correct, once you return to stock it vin unlocks it and can be used on another vehicle.

I just bought one of these today. I'm planning on setting it up to fix my speedo then when my tuner is able to do it I'll flash it back and sell it. So, if SCT gets this fix out soon I'll have a severely discounted but fully functional Hypertech Speedo Calibrator for sale.

I was trying to convince myself that I could wait but I can't. If it was a slight change at 60-70MPH I'd just deal with it but it's 10.5% off and knowing that drives me nuts.

Just got this in the mail today. I set the tire size on the Hypertech to 32.75. I currently have 34.1" tires. I am 1MPH off at 65MPH. My truck speedo says 65 and two GPS apps say 64. Before, the truck speedo said 65 and the GPS app said 70.

Maybe if I set it to 32.5 it would be dead on. I'll give it a shot another day. Initial set up took a little time, maybe a few minutes. After the initial, adjusting tire sizes only took about a minute and a half.

Last time I posted this somebody got butt hurt......

Don't overthink it. Plug the thing into your OBDII port and follow the instructions. My wife could do it.

SOME TIPS FROM AN IDIOT!!

So I just did this, didn't even know what an OBD port was! I was a little unsure about doing this, but everyone made it sound so easy and I really wanted my speedo back to normal, like the OP I was off about 4mph after going up to a 295/70/18.

Here is what almost tripped me up, I have an aftermarket camera and stereo and almost didn't unhook them from the battery, according to the directions that can mess it up. So I undid those (10 ratchet) and then made sure ALL the lights were off, no ipod or charger plugged in etc... Then I noticed my f**ing ipod was still blue toothed, so I just turned it completely off. Then I sat in silence for like 2 minutes just waiting for everything to turn off and have a minute to think about if I missed anything. Then I did it. It was super easy. Took me two attempts. My tire is 34.3 not .5 but I tried 34.5 first, that put the TRUCK about 2 mph faster than I was going according to GPS. So I put it back down to 34.25 and after driving for a few minutes the gps and speedo were linked up.

I noticed a distinct improvement over my acceleration with this change, does anyone know the extent of the tuning going on? It has been rainy here and it felt like I was slipping every time I tried to get going at a light or stop sign, now with this changed I am driving how it used to, with a smooth acceleration.

I didn't notice anything with acceleration but my shift points seemed to be more seamless once I corrected the tire size.

You're way more cautious than I am. I didn't unplug anything from the truck. I just plugged in that thing and let er' rip.

Replace cautious with inexperienced and I think you might be right This is the first truck I've owned and never modded any of my cars. So a lot of the things I have been doing I have been doing for the first time and don't want to screw it up. Thankfully this forum exists to talk me through things that seem hard, but are actually pretty simple. I am sure once I get more comfortable I will be back to not reading directions
