I agree that the original post is misleading.

You forgot just....$395 increase for XL. And $395 increase for XLT.

$895 for Lariat, and King Ranch goes up $3,055 because it has $4,500 worth of additional crap. Wasn't the editor at PUTC complaining awhile ago that the KR should be something more luxurious and not just KR logos? You get what you ask for.

Most of that was due to inflation. The build & price is still up for the 2013 and 2014.

2013 XLT base is $30,455. 2014 XLT is $31,530. Adjusted for 2% inflation that's only a $444 increase.

2015 XLT base is $31,890. Adjusted for inflation that's a -$309 decrease on 2015.

Add up the two and it's basically $135 increase from 2013 to 2015. Adjusted for inflation.

First year of a new model truck. Yeah I would charge more for the premium options also. Down the road incentives will be available, they are just making a good buck off of those who "just can't wait" and "need it now" buyers.

^that is likely true, but if you are trading in a truck and decide to wait a couple of years for the new truck prices to come down (due to the bigger incentives), now your old truck is worth less so wouldn't it likely be a wash pricewise?

yes that's what I meant, always buying new. A "buy now, or buy later if the prices come down" scenario....so if you wait a year or two to get another 3 or 4 grand in potential discounts/rebates, but by then your current truck (to trade in) has more miles on it and is now worth less, it seems like a wash to me.

In addition to the price increases, you will likely see smaller discounts on the incentive end. For the last year in Canada they have been offering $10k in discounts, but likely will drop that down when the 15's hit the lots.

If your 5 year old truck is paid for you save big time in not making payments + u might get big incentives in 2017 and lower rates, LOL and your old truck will still be running.

Well my 15 year old truck is paid for and working fine but I'm sure not waiting another 3 years to buy a new one. I may wait 6 months before ordering as receiving a new truck in the middle of a Canadian winter is not that appealing.

BTW an argument can be made that (like GM with their new trucks) Ford will gradually raise their truck prices in subsequent years after subsidizing a good deal of the aluminum cost in the first year. http://www.torquenews.com/106/ford-e...-new-2015-f150

In any event, MSRP is far less important to the bottom line than are incentives.
