Default How's your 2015 - 2017 5.0 Treating You?

It's been a couple years now, thought I'd start a thread where users can share their experience so far about their '15, '16, and '17 trucks with the 5.0L. Doesn't have to be just about the engine, feel free to share any experience, good and bad, about the whole truck.

I've had my 2016 5.0 since new - a little over three years now. It's got about 65,000kms (~40,000 miles). Had an ABS sensor replaced after the first 6 months under warranty. I currently have the dash warp issue, the 1,500-1,800 rpm whistle, and the door latch recall performed. Engine and transmission have held up great.

I'm very happy with my 16 model. I'm a pretty low mileage driver (drive company vehicles mostly) as I only have about 12,400 miles on it so far but no issues. My main complaint would be the factory stereo system sucks.

No problems at all related to the 5.0. I had the stereo module go bad while under warranty. Outside of that, no issues with the truck even. I've got 47,000 miles on mine and drive it fairly hard. I've made a decent amount of mods to it with more to come. I absolutely love it and get compliments from people when they ride with me.

My 2015 is doing great so far. At 52K miles now. No issues. Gas mileage could be better but whatever. Love the sound of the V8 every time I start it up, puts a huge smile on my face.

Love mine. I've only owned it for the last 11k miles, at just under 35k now total, but no issues. It's comfortable and enjoyable to drive. No strange noises like you hear about with the 18+ 5.0s.

I'm knocking on wood as I type this, but my 2017 has been trouble free since I bought it, now about 24,000 miles on it. With the 5.0 I am averaging 17.5 mpg when just using it to commute to work, about 23 miles, 1/3 freeway the rest 25-35 with signal lights and traffic. The best I've done was 21.7 on a road trip, the worst 10.5 towing our 25' travel trailer. Overall no complaints.

2016 XLT SC 52K miles. My vibration problems are well documented here and tried to lemon law the truck but lost the case. Lots of drivetrain parts replaced and vibes still present although "better". My A/C recirc is now acting up. The system will sometimes pull air from outside even in recirc mode. I am hoping it will correct itself or go out for good so it can be diagnosed. iIf it is the air mode actuator it is a little over 4 hours labor so that will be a nice tab to pay not to mention all the rattles that will soon follow in my dash. Other than the vibes I like the truck.

2016, 5.0, 503A tech package. 35K miles. I absolutely LOVE this truck. I only owned 1 other vehicle prior to this, and it was a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. That truck was great, no issues, but the F-150 was like jumping 50 years into the future! Lane keep assist, 360 cam. heated steering wheel, auto high beams/wipers, etc etc... My sunroof did jam up and a piece broke off inside of it. I had to get the entire thing replaced, costs me $0 though. I'm averaging about 18 mpg, but I baby this thing. I keep it washed/waxed/tires shined up nice very often. Tinted windshield requires no sunglasses while driving, even in this Georgia summer. I highly recommend this truck to anyone who asks.

My 2016 just turned 46K problem-free miles. Have not had it in for a single issue. Love this truck...

17 with 38k but I’ve only put about 1500 miles on it over the last 3-4 months because I’ve got a work vehicle. Has the warped dash around the vents and the 1500-1800 RPM whistle just like the OP’s truck. Neither of these bother me. 5.0 and 6spd is flawless and smooth as butter. I love this truck.

I’m not saying they are trouble-free but I personally believe the 15-17 5.0 is the best truck to have.
