Never been disappointed with any of the Eco Boost trucks I've had and a $600.00 tuner is a lot cheaper that a $5,000.00 supercharger if I wanted to go that route!!!

Oh don't get me wrong I've never been disappointed with an ecoboost either. Everyone I've ever met that drives one is really nice, they always let me win. Come to think of it the Raptor guys are really nice too.

Not really comparable. A $600 tuner and an ecoboost aren’t in the same realm of power a supercharged 5.0 puts out. Different ball game, the 5.0 can do 700-800 horsepower......

both engines already have more power than most need stock. Anything extra is just for the fun factor!

The 3.5 EB makes 645hp and 550 lb-ft of torque in a Ford GT and won Le Mans meaning race reliability too. A Shelby Raptor with a 3.5 Eco Boost Raptor engine makes 525 HP and 610 lb-ft of torque. A little tweak here and there and the 3.5 Eco Boost can also become a monster.

Still a long way off from 750-800 at the crank on the whipple 5.0. And you're really not comparing apples to apples since the GT ecoboost motor had a different all aluminum intake, different oiling system, larger turbo's, and different cam's in addition higher strength internals than the F150. Not even close to the same motor.

Comparing a 5.0 with $7K-$8K worth of mods to an Ecoboost isn't comparing apples to apples either. But for someone with deep pockets (like you) a Whippled 5.0 is the way to go.
I'm content with a tuned Ecoboost, but I probably wouldn't be content with just a tune on a 5.0

Different engines though, the ecoboost in the GT uses high compression pistons and different internals. Same goes for the Raptor having an increased compression ratio. I agree a tune adds a lot to a forced induction engine! But it’s still different than the HO variant and not to the level of a supercharger if you want max performance.

These replies are golden. I currently have gen 2 CTSV with about 590 hp at the rear wheel. My GM SUV with the 6.2 would be so much better with a blower but I'm not will to dump the funds into it as it is a 2012. Would like a 2016+ F150 with the whipple. Based on the feedback I think this will be the way I go.

How is the throttle response with the whipple vs the EB? Off of idle, off of cruise, etc.
