I chose 3-4 years but ideally, I try to buy two trucks of every body style. Example, I bought a 2016 after some of the 2015 kinks were worked out. Then I bought a 2018 when the body refresh came out.

I've always had a Mustang GT since 1994, wife has had several F-150's over the years too. When I started thinking I could no longer use the convertible (anti-rejection meds, more susceptible to skin cancer), I said I want something comfy, and bigger. Plus I loved 4 wheeling in Colorado with my Uncle on his huge farm when I was younger, so thought instead of going fast down a track, I'll go slow in some mud! This one is a keeper till the wheels fall off and I can't keep them on, even with duct tape and bailing wire.

I voted 5-6 years but I usually replace every 3 years. I'm waiting for the "Next Gen" to be released and will by buying then.

Only reason I'm waiting is this truck has been bullet proof, I have done so many mods that I can't see there being any upgrade by replacing ATM.

The plan with my 12th gen was to keep it at least 10 years, however it was at the shop so often that plan were changed when the engine developed a crack in cylinder 4, I got the engine replaced under the ESP, and planned to keep it until the ESP expired at 7 years or 120,000 miles. Then the Timing belt on the refurbished engine needed replaced and the plan was modified again and I traded it in for a 2018.

I got a 7 year 120k ESP on my 2018 and the plan is to keep it for at least 10 years. Time will tell.

My wife and I keep our vehicles 10 years, buying new. Oil and filter changes, a set of tires, and a brake job is usually all we have to put on them within that timeframe. After 10 years and a 100,000 miles they seem to start to nickel and dime you.

this was my original plan. I was thinking of trading for the refreshed 18, then I was going to wait and order a '19, then I saw an '18 diesel leftover and wanted that.

I'm thinking of waiting for the next major redesign now.

I've started having some issues with my truck stalling and that kind of made me want to get rid of it, but I have an ESP, so it's covered anyway, just a matter of getting it back and forth to the dealer until they can replicate the issue and fix it. I was also disappointed in the trade in value I was offered from both the Ford dealer I bought it from new, as well as the Chevy dealer when I went to look at a 19 silverado, which has made me want to hang on to it.

I usually swap every 3-4 years. However, with some fairly recent news of our family expanding (our first) and the wife staying at home, this one will be run until the wheels fall off. Fortunately, it's a killer truck and I love it, so I don't see that being a problem!

I used to buy a new truck every 2-3 years. Now I realize that I was just throwing my money away. All the money wasted on tax and license then the depreciation of the vehicle itself. I've had my 2015 for 4 years now and put 48000 miles on it. It still runs and looks great and I plan on keeping it for as along as possible. That is at least until I see the new redesign

I bought my 2001 new and kept it 18 years, was still a good truck with only 80,000 miles but was starting to rust out. So barring any major mechanical issues I hope to have this one that long.
