My 73 Torino had the 351 Windsor 4barrel. Great engine.

My Dad should have checked the 351 engine option for the '89 supercab.

In fact, there isn't much information at all about its lineage except it has a composite oil pan, Coyote-esque piston oil squirters, and a CGI block.

If you have some information that the 2.7 is part of a new engine family, please provide it and it would be much appreciated.
Here's a link to the whole article, with the key excerpt below, from SAE:

http://articles.sae.org/13388/

"CGI cylinder block in aluminum structure

The 2.7-L is based on an all-new V6 architecture; it's not part of the 3.5-L family. "

Also read at the end the mention of a half billion dollar investment at the Lima engine plant to tool it up.

Seems Ford is treating the coyote very well. The 2018 f150 and mustang gets port and direct injection. The mustang also gets a bump in compression to 12.1 for increased power. Hopefully the f150 gets a bump as well. The v-8 doomsdayers were wrong again because the 5.0 will be around thru 2018 for sure.
