Default How do you like your OEM LED lighting?

Hey guys,

Just curious to hear from any owners of trucks with the OEM LED lighting system. What is your opinion in general? Do you find the headlights really good? How is the high beam performance?

My truck will have the LED lighting and I'm looking forward to having better headlights than the halogens that were in my 2010. The high beams in that truck were especially weak as the light wasn't focused enough to light up a good distance down the road.

Thanks!

I don't have the lights seadragon but from what I heard they are awesome. Ford was very very proud of the lighting system they put in.

I think they work great, my Vette has factory xenon low beams and light up the road like the sun, the LEDs seem to give off similar light.

I have the LEDs on my 2016 Lariat and they're great. The auto-bright/dim feature works well too. They really light up the road with a nice color and have much better range than my 2012 standard headlights. They look great too on my Blue Jeans color scheme. It's personal taste whether or not they're worth the price but it was one option that was a must for me.

I find it a bit strange that Ford left the fog lights halogen when the rest of the truck is all LED. For what they charge for the Lariat 502a package (or any higher model) they certainly could have included LED fogs to complete the scene.

Oh well, the Morimoto XBs will take care of that.

I find the LED headlights to be very good on both low beam and high beam without offending oncoming drivers. I've had two cars with HID lights which were far superior to halogen and I would rate these LED's a notch above the HID's however on the truck they are higher above the road so that gives them an edge. Range down road and to the right side are both superior to any stock system I've experienced. Left side is well lit but I can tell the designers were not willing to blind oncoming drivers.

The auto high beam is great, since we left behind the foot operated high beam switch I fussed every time I had to use high beams. There is a adjustment period to accept help from the computer in activating or deactivating the high beams but I finally accepted the help.

I admit I was a little disappointed that the fog lights were only halogen and was planning to upgrade them until I read a post on here about how the LED headlights can, at times, not generate enough heat to clear snow/ice from the lenses. Suddenly it dawned on me why the designers may have decided to leave one set of halogen lights up front. While I've yet to have my headlights covered I have had my BLIS sensors and forward camera covered by snow.

In my opinion you shouldn't worry, the extra investment is worth it. You'll like them.

The fog lights do throw a good spread of light and are defiantly more than just decoration like on so many vehicles.

I don't think that is the reason AKJAS. I'm sure it's a cost thing. $2 for a pair of bulbs sure beats over $100 for LED bulbs.

If you have the OEM Ford LED headlights you REALLY should upgrade your fogs to LED. The H10 LEDs is what you want. I'm offering 25% off right now since I have a big shipment coming in (I have stock now but another big shipment due in another week). They really make the truck and give off a LOT of light.

LED lighting all around on the 502A package is great. I like the auto-high beams as well. I did change my fogs to Morimotos because the bulb replacement doesn't throw the right beam pattern and I got more headlight flashes in 36 hours than I could count. Morimotos are well worth the money.

You got headlight flashes because of the product you installed

I hate when people use the wrong/cheap LED bulb and think they suck. I have them in my fogs and they have the same beam pattern as the halogens have, only MORE light output and brighter. No flashes at all.

In fact, my fogs are aimed low to where if i JUST turn my fogs on, they look like headlights... headlights that were aimed WAY too low.

I had narrowed the list down and those Morimotos were looking pretty good to me. Have you adjusted them down to reduce the flashes from oncoming drivers? Would love to know if they can throw high volumes of light without offending others.
