Default How is the 2nd Gen 3.5 doing compared to the 1st Gen 3.5?

With 2019 coming up and 2 years under the belt of the 2nd generation 3.5 TT I'm wondering how it's performing in terms of reliability? Have the issues that plagued many of the 1st generation 3.5's been addressed in the 2nd gen?

With the end of the year approaching some dealers are becoming very generous. I've seen as much as $12,500 off the MSRP which is very tempting. My main concern is reliability. Not so much MPG or drag strip performance.

Any thoughts from these who have owned a 2nd get for a while or maybe some owners who have owned both the 1st gen and 2nd gen?

How about the 10 speed transmission?

Thanks in advance

I have 60000 + miles on my 3.5TT. What all are the plague issues? I have had none.

My 3.5EBgen2/10-speed combo has 6.5K on it right now, and it just hums along. Very happy with the combination.

28k miles on my gen2 and no issues. I also owned 2 gen1s and had no issues with those either, But I like the gen2 w/10 speed even better.

My 11 Gen 1 was problematic when towing heavy. Warped exhaust manifolds, cooked a throttle body, had numerous other problems in 125k miles. Sold it. Have a Gen2 now w/23k miles and it's been flawless. Love the 3.5tt and 10 speed combo for dailu use and heavy (10k lbs) towing.

Have had 6 Gen 1 3.5 and all were trouble free. Have my first Gen 2 and it is better than the Gen 1. Smooth, powerful, quiet. Matched with the 10 speed I don't even feel the need to tune it. Very pleased with it.

Have almost 40k on my 17 3.5tt and 10spd. Flawless and smooth, no rattles clunks or otherwise
