Default Horn Beeps Upon Exit

Hey All,

Just got my 2015 Platinum 2 weeks ago. I love it but there is one thing driving me crazy. If i get out of the truck with the key-fob in my pocket, while its running and close the door the horn beeps twice.

Does anyone know how to turn that off? I've been scrolling through settings over and over but i can't find anything there.

I understand the reason for it, but i like to keep the car running when i go into a store for 2 minutes.

It seems there isn't a way to change this. Leave the door ajar, restart with remote, or try one of the unique ideas explained in this thread on the subject.

Yep, irritates me too. Ford... are you listening? Please give us an option to shut the 2 honks off! Its loud and obnoxious, and for the price of these trucks, the BUYER should decide if they want this feature, not you as a company.

Turn your vehicle off. 2 minutes while you are in the store isn't going to ruin anything if the vehicle is off.

I hate it too. It's stupid and annoying.

If anything, wouldn't it make more sense to honk at you twice at full volume if the fob was IN THE TRUCK, not in your pocket?

No, that makes even less sense.

How does the vehicle know that YOU left the vehicle if the FOB is in the truck and the door is closed.

The way it works know is that it can sense that the FOB has left the interior of the truck and it's running, and that the FOB is leaving the vicinity if the vehicle.

I would guess this is why there's no way to leave the truck run while you run into a store or something. Too many lawyers in the world.

Actually, you're right. I guess I was so blind with anger that I didn't think that it would honk if you just opened the door but didnt get out.

BUT, I do think if you push "ok" on the dash cluster screen when it says "engine on" as you exit that should tell the truck the driver knows it's running and the key is leaving and kill the honk.

Years ago when my wife and I were out house shopping with a real estate agent he pulled up to a place he wanted us to see. He wasn't sure if home owner was home or not, told us to stay in car so he could check,he jumped out left car running I happen to look down at console and realized he didn't put in park.luckily he was pulled into a parking space with a stop. Anyways that was long before key fobs so who's fault was that ? maybe the keys? Lmao F'ing lawyers
